Designed for hard use!
from Kettering, OH
When my old drill got hot, grease dripped out of the gear housing so I replaced it with a 36V Bosch Brute Tough 1/2" Hammer Drill/Driver... and then a second one! I drill hundreds of 5/8" holes in the mortar joints of brick homes while insulating the walls. The Bosch is fast and easy with little vibration. When it's not drilling mortar it's drilling one-inch holes through wood-sided walls for installing insulation. My Bosch cordless drill and the new Bosch Daredevil flat bit makes sidewall drilling easy and quick. The spare battery is always charged and ready before it's needed. After a year of use I dropped one of the drills from a ladder, twenty feet up. I wasn't using the auxiliary handle and the drill "sprang" enough that it didn't go into low gear. I opened it up and found a clip pin was out of place slipped it in position and the drill was back in service. The "Unibody Powertrain construction" keeps the gearing compact and concealed within a protective housing. I can't imagine a ladder drop hurting this drill. It does all that I ask and I don't have to mess with extension cords hanging from ladders and walk boards. I will not hesitate buying more as my business grows.

Well worth it.
My wife purchased this drill for me after I had finally had it with my old 12V Craftsman drill. We had to order it online at the time because it was not yet available in Canada and ever since it arrived I haven't looked back. More power than many corded drills, lasts all day on one battery, and despite my having dropped it from a number of ladders it just keeps going. It may be heavy, but it is comfortable enough to hold that it isn't tiring unless drilling overhead.
Great cordless electric drill! Battery last forever.

I've owned this Hammer/drill for about 2 years now - I bought it shortly after my DeWalt 18V Cordless drill was stolen. The Bosch hammer/drill cost $5 more than the original DeWalt I had, offered a hammer drill option, and was 36V. I can use this as a electric drill for about 6 to 8 hours before the battery needs charging! In hammer drill mode, I've used it to remove the lug nuts from my Ford F350 Pickup, but will eat up the battery in about 2 hours. It has all the torque you could ever want, and lasts forever!. Only takes about an hour to recharge the battery. The drill comes with two batteries, so I've experience no down time. The torque clutch has been very useful in preventing over counter sinking for screws. If I had one complaint, it would be the weight. Fatigue sets in pretty quickly when using this product over your head for long periods of time.
