I was in denial when my old stove slowly started dying for several weeks. When it finally stopped working we made a quick trip to ABT. I had no intention of buying a Samsung. While I respect them for their tablets and smartphones, I wasn't about to spend $2000 and up for a stove by Samsung. I carefully reviewed all the other stoves in the $1500-$3000 range. I wanted a 5 burner with a center grate for either grilling or making pancakes on the weekend. I came close with the GE, but I couldn't justify spending an additional $750. I took a chance on this stove and went with the 3 year warranty. I love to cook and I've been very impressed at the precise control of the flame whether sautéing or baking. It's been great so far and easy to clean. I highly recommend it and did I mention, It looks pretty sharp also.

By using more than one burner at a time, it changes my prefered temperature settings making it impossible to cook using more that one or two pans at a time. Great for boiling water. That's about it. too many error codes that incapacitates the stove, happens often during long and multiple use such as on holidays or cooking for company! I've only had it for two years and now it's broken to the point that a very expensive repair is being arranged by Samsung so instead of having it repaired happly I am junking this appliance and happily buying an old trusted brand.

Comments about Samsung 30" Stainless Steel Slide-In Convection Gas Range:
A beautiful addition to our kitchen. Range top burners very efficient with precise control. Oven controls and settings simple and straight forward and temperature control is accurate. In other words, with one exception, love everything about the range. That one exception is with the warming drawer hardware. The drawer must be removed to change the orifice in the pressure regulator when converting from natural gas to propane. Re-inserting said drawer is a nightmare. The drawer slides on either side of the drawer must be aligned with surgical precision or they simply will not mesh and allow the drawer to close. While I am not a highly trained appliance repair technician I am a Mechanical Engineer and have a basic understanding of such things. It took me over two hours of fiddling and two calls to Customer Service before finally getting the slides aligned so the drawer would close. So, a word to the wise. If you ever remove the drawer for cleaning or service be prepared for some frustration.

This is a great product with plenty of functionality and a design that compliments our kitchen. The oven cooks evenly and warms to temperature quickly. The griddle cooks evenly and the burners are well designed and have a good range of control. The control panel is nicely designed and the control panel offers many options for baking.

Strong on Cooking, Weak on Finish
from Sacramento, CA, USA
Installed about five plus months ago, this unit meets all of our needs. PROS: The continuous grates are perfect for starting food on a high temp burner and then slide the pan back to a lower temp burner when needed. The variety of burner temps is great for quick boil, simmer, high and low heats. The oven gets to temperature quickly and the digital readout is easy to read. Most of the controls are intuitive and easy to set. Most of the directions are on screen and easy to follow. We manually clean the oven interior and the surface is easy to wash. The center griddle burner is nice to have for those Sunday mornings where French toast is a must. But generally, it's not very useful. You cannot leave the griddle on because it gets in the way of any pan over 8" wide, like a large frying pan. CONS: My two cons are (1) that the stainless steel scratches too easily, (2) The burner caps and aluminum bases stain easily, and (3) the back vent grate is ill designed. (1) The stainless steel surface scratches so easily, I am amazed. I've used other steel tops and never had any scratches but this surface's tensile strength is extremely poor. If scratches bother you, then this is not the product for you. Many ranges will perform equally well. (2) The burner caps water and oil stain easily. The surfaces are a rough black iron finish that seems to hold the stains and no matter how much scrubbing, I cannot get them clean. The aluminum base that holds the cap, has a porous surface and it holds stains easily. Don't dare spill or splatter - you'll never get them clean. This is a no brainer: it's a cook top - food splatters. The surfaces should be smooth, like a porcelain or some surface that releases food and be easy to clean. These are not. It's always going to be a trial to keep the cook top looking nice. Lastly, (3) The pan grates have rubber feet to hold them in place without scratching. But the back vent iron grate scratched the cook top the day it was put in place. Mostly because the under-surface ends of the vent grate are not the same, one is smooth, the other has a locating bump. The mounting surface is not symmetrical - one side smooth and the other has a well to receive the grate's bump. Why? I have no idea. It's a design flaw in my view! I would recommend the unit because it cooks very well but I would warn the prospective buyer that if scratches bother you as the do me, I would look for a unit whose surface is durable, this one is not.

I haven't been able to cook with gas since 1999. This range is so much more than my range back then. I love the gas convection and the 5 burners. Like I said, it is beautiful.
This range is AWESOME! !!!

I ENJOY COOKING AND BAKING SO MUCH MORE, HAPPY JOY
Challenges With Pre-Heat
By Jim the Runner
Like the 5th burner, like the look, like the grates, like the warming drawer and liked the price point. My wife and I both like to cook. We had never paid $2,000.00 for an oven / range but figured to give it a shot. The reason we went and purchased a new oven was because our old one seemed to be having inconsistencies in keeping temperature while baking etc. plus it was 9 years old. We opted to go with the Samsung do to the look and the rating of the oven. We were on high alert to making sure the oven temperature was correct when the new one was installed. After working with the new one for a few days we noticed that the preheat sensor would not signal accurately to the preheat temperature. Whenever we checked with our oven thermometers, when the preheat signal sounded, the actual temperature was 100 degrees under the required preheat. It would then take an additional 5-7 minutes to get to the required preheat temperature. We reported this and it was Abt's solution to send out a new oven. They did and this one has the same issue. Anyway, we like the oven but I find it very curious that a company like Samsung cannot figure out how to develop an oven which is capable of signaling a preheat temperature that is accurate.
Service and delivery comments:
Our salesperson was nice and helpful. He was able to get us delivery o the 1st oven the Friday before Christmas 2016 which was appreciated. The delivery folks on both occasions were pleasant and professional. Our salesperson called us once to make sure the 1st oven arrived and that we were satisfied. It was after that call, and when I started learning about the above mentioned preheat issues when our salesperson seemed to off the face of the earth. I left 3 subsequent messages for the salesperson to call me back, to ask them questions about the preheat scenario. I left them voicemail's on their line and left messages with your customer service department. The salesperson never called back. Even though in this instance we were not spending large sums of money, we have been loyal customers. I then reached out to Samsung via their Twitter service line. They were very responsive and willing to set up a service call etc. I elected to not pursue the issue and learned that we need to allow the oven an extra 5-7 minutes to preheat to a desired temperature. At the end of the day we will continue to purchase appliances from Abt. We typically like the experience. To all Abt salespeople.....big or small, a customer is a customer. Customers with a positive experience throughout the sales process spread positive news. Customers with not so positive experiences either go elsewhere or stay with a supplier (as we will) and just find someone else to support them. Thanks Abt for the chance to provide feedback.
Merchant response: Thanks for the feedback. We're sorry to hear you had a bad shopping experience with one of our sales associate. We pride ourselves in customer service and it is never our intention to aggravate our customers in any way. We pride ourselves in customer service we are happy to help people spending $10 as much as we are $10k. We're here to assist our customers.

We needed a new range right before Christmas. I jumped online to do my research and had actually found a similar Samsung range that we had intended on purchasing. That is until we came across this one in the store. It was on sale for slightly more than the original range we intended to purchase which was 1/3 the list price for this one. It was a no brainer. Anyway what sold it for us was the size of the oven which is huge with a large viewing window, the more powerful burners and the slide out rack. The all stainless steel surface cleans easily - much more easily than the typical porcelain top ranges we've owned. The oven heats up quickly and holds and maintains temperature quite well. One of the things I like is the "door open" warning you get if you leave the door open too long. The burners are powerful and provide a wide range of cooking temperature options. I've seen several complaints about being unable to find a "simmer" burner...Well, this range actually has two. The center burner with the griddle is great for foods like pancakes or bacon. The nonstick griddle cleans up easily. My only complaint is that the display panel. If there is any sort of glare it makes it very difficult to read. The background is stainless and the letters are black. Not a clever design. But the controls are easy to use and I like the fact that you actually have to press and hold the touch pad for 3 seconds to avoid accidental shut off or temperature adjustment.
The dishwasher is junk. Won't run a whole cycle because of "Overflow Sensor"
from Iowa, USA
Dishwasher works okay sometimes. But more and more regularly, it stops mid cycle to error out with a "Smart Auto" and "Heavy" lights flashing indicating that the dishwasher is "Over-Level Water Sensor". We had the board replaced in it during our first year of ownership, and I've personally replaced one of the sensors, but the problems always return. This thing needs a recall big time.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Simple Modern Design
Simple Modern Design - Does not include a lot of unneeded or unused features simple and does what a dishwasher is suppose to do - wash dishes stainless steel finish is a bit of a chore to keep clean and if anyone ever has a suggestion or product that works i would love to hear about it (i've tried many)
