FM reception of weaker FM stations is very good with the internal antenna or the supplied wire antenna. AM reception is above average, but some of the portable Sangean radios are probably better for AM. One advantage of the WR-2 is that you can connect external AM and FM antennas for even better reception.Sound quality is very good for a small radio and there is plenty of volume for use in a kitchen, bedroom, or office. The "record out" line-level output jack can be used to use the radio as a tuner and connect to a stereo system or external speakers (the sound is stereo.) In my case I connect it to my Klipsch computer speakers. While this radio does have a clock and alarm, it may not offer the best ergonomics for use as a bedside radio (many small buttons, no snooze bar, dark numbers on light background - but the display can be dimmed or turned completely off.) However, I'm not aware of any current clock radio which combines ideal reception, sound, and ergonomics. I mainly use the easy-to-use remote control.

Versatile, Good Sound

The biggest disappointment is the weak internal antenna. But this can be amended by installing an outside antenna. The ability to remotely change channels is great! I am able to receive AM channels in Nashville from Chicago, Canada, Chicago, Atlanta, and St Louis. If you listen to more than one channel as DX, this is the radio for you since it is remotely tunable..
ABT delivered promptly and the packing was excellent. Price was very favorable compared to some other very successful companies. Price ranks among the best. Shipping wrap was large bubbles.
Has an adjustable bass and treble control.

Needed to adjust bass as I am slightly hard of hearing. Attractive case and good pre-sets. Most table models do not have these features, At ABT price it was a bargain......
Picked up at store.
Excellent sound quality and reception!

I was unable to get consistent reception from my classical music station in L.A. on prior clock radio, so purchased this one. Beautiful and clear reception and tone. I use it by my bedside. Little trouble figuring out how to get alarm to wake to music instead of beep, beep.
Very prompt and excellent packaging.

Everything about this am/fm clock radio is perfectly fine except for the large display feature. The light is too bright, and if the light is dimmed, the readout can't be read in the night. The letters and numbers on this feature are not bold enough.

We use the radio in our bedroom. We bought it because it had a coax connection, but the reception is so good that we didn't need to connect it to our attic antenna. The sound is mellow, and the cabinet is classically beautiful.
Had to call to order because I couldn't seem to get the site to work. It came promptly and packaged very well.
A great "real" radio!

I use the WR-2WL as a clock / radio in my bedroom. It has all the clock/alarm and radio functions down pact. Once you learn to manage the wonderful included remote in the dark, it's nearly perfect. The only element I would modify is the screen definition - maybe black figures rather than blue - which would enhance readability and lessen brightness. For me to read the screen information I end up lighting the entire room. Comfortable earphones for bed truly enhance this great little radio.
All delivery issues were as expected, and I have, cross my fingers, no service issues as of now.
