We bought this six weeks ago and like most all features except the microwave time function: It forces you to only select in 15 second segments, nothing less. More selections in 5-second intervals would be better. All choices (for both ovens) are made through a dial, which gets constant use -- for both the micro and oven -- and I can guess this may be the first part to wear out. I was surprised the convention oven does not provide any other choices than 250 degrees....more options would be much better to keep food warm (some require less heat! Again, more choices would be better, like 150, 180, 200, 220 degrees). The lower oven racks are coated and slide easily, especially the middle one on a sliding support! You have to be careful casserole dishes don't come flying out, but it is very easy to use. The racks do have a new "anchor" system that takes effort to learn how to get in and out; I find these difficult because of the twisted end piece which anchors both sides of each rack. It was a nice surprise to find three oven racks, adjusting them is a challenge though due to the design of the racks.. The oven light dims when you shut the door, a nice feature to check positioning. The unit looks great, so nice and clean and exactly fits the old spot! Matching the old footprint was critical, the price incentive made it doable. Clock: We lost power recently and the clock function keeps going out now. How do we correct? Tapping the Start button brings it back, but it eventually goes out. Before, it remained on for quick reference. All in all, a worthwhile investment that adds to the value of our kitchen and our home (we recently upgraded all appliances).

The features are great benefits. There is lots of room in the oven and microwave. Everything cooks evenly and the microwave cooks great. It was easy to install. Overall, the product seems very solid. The two most common complaints i've heard are the dial, and the sound of the beeping. The dial is a little strange to get used to but if it means less buttons taking up space and more space for the microwave and oven, then i'm on board with it. The beeping sound that it makes when the microwave or oven is done is way too quiet. It frustrates me when i can't hear it go off. It's particularly annoying because when the microwave finishes, the fan is still going making it sound as if it's still running. Freaked me out a few times cause i though my food was still cooking after it beeped and i didn't hear it. Here are my additional complaints. It's fancy having a microwave door feel like a double oven because it folds down instead of swings out, but in this case GE chose design over functionality. I would say that if you are about 5' tall, do not consider the recommended height from the floor to access two-handed items inside the microwave comfortably. I have the oven 5" higher than the recommended height because that's how it worked with my cabinet. I'm 5'8" and it's almost awkward with the arms trying to reach over the door. Since the door swings down, not only does it cause your body to be further away and harder to reach in, but you may need both your arms to take out an item, so you then have to pull the item closer to you, step back, then turn away. Also, the drop down door is also harder to close and less convenient to close than a swing out door. A swing out door it's just the flick of a finger. The fan in the oven makes a humming/vibrating noise. When i have the convection fan running. I sounds loud when it cycles off and on. so loud i can hear it hum out of the kitchen and down the hallway. Ironic thing is that i bought a side-by-side GE fridge a few years ago and the same thing happened with the fan in the freezer. it was too loud and eventually had a service guy come out and replace the fan motor. Still is loud once in a blue moon. The most crucial appliance of the kitchen by the most experienced appliance manufacture shouldn't still be struggling with these small usability issues.

The oven has been easy to use and very reliable for reheating as well as cooking. It also has an easy to maintain stainless steel front.

This oven replaced our existing wall oven, which failed two weeks before thanksgiving! The oven was installed and has great features.

Very pleased so far

I've only owned my wall oven/microwave for a week, but so far I'm very pleased with its performance. The pre-programmed settings make perfect popcorn, and the soup and hot chocolate are exactly the right temperature. I also just used the microwave as a convection oven to bake a small cake, and it came out beautifully. The controls are a little clunky--you have to push a lot of buttons and turn the dial a lot to perform even simple tasks. With other microwaves I've had, you could push one button to get it to cook for 1-5 minutes immediately. Also, the traditional flat racks in the lower oven are a little hard to pull in and out. But the cooking performance is so good that I'm willing to put up with a few quirks. The stainless steel is also a little shinier than my other stainless appliances, which have a more brushed steel appearance. But I've got four different brands of appliances in my kitchen, so I can't expect perfect coordination.

Have just had this product for a week, but I purchased it because I've been so happy with GE products in the past. It seems that GE works to improve its products over time because this micro/wall oven functions even better than my GE Monogram that I installed 8 years ago. All the functions that I've tried work well. Took off one star star because it really shows fingerprints. Have to give it a quick wipe every single time I press a button or touch a handle. Nevertheless, I love it!

I have purchased a set of appliances and just had the microwave Wall oven combo installed today. Looks beautiful and just cooked a frozen pizza. I was amazed that the pizza came out evenly cooked and not half burned and half raw. Love it.
Perfect additional to my kitchen.

Love all the features and the sleek look. Simple to use and the finish is beautiful.
Slow to heat and wastes energy
from North Carolina, United States
The oven is attractive and versatile because it can microwave, convection bake, and regular bake. The bad news is it not energy efficient. No matter what setting is used (microwave, oven or convection) when the cycle is done a cooling fan begins to run; it can run as long as fifteen minutes to cool down the appliance. I would prefer to just open the door to let out the heat or leave the door closed and let the oven gradually cool down over several hours. Further, the convection and regular ovens cook very slowly, approximately 25% slower than the previous oven.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Versatile cooking options
Before my previous built-in microwave/oven combo broke, I did not realize that a convection oven could be combined with a microwave in the same device. The knob+button technology is intuitive and the design attractive. Both small and large ovens cook evenly but the small one is an excellent option for cooking projects that I used to do in a microwave to save time and energy.
