I bought this last month to replace a Cuisinart. I am so glad I went with this one!! For one thing you can put actual food into the chute. You don't have to cut up food(which always seemed to defeat the purpose). It is a nice wide slot. You don't dump out the sharp knife when you empty the bowl- the knife stays in place. Removing the slicing blade doesn't require you to hold a sharp object by the rim, it has finger holes on top so you get a firm grip. This machine is very well engineered and answers all the questions you had for years when you asked why did they do that? Now you say wow, it's great they finally did that!!!It's a wonderful tool in the kitchen, as evidenced by this year's gingerbread house, which it powered right through!

This machine does what it claims....chops, slices, etc. But it is a pain in the butt. If you have a small and quick job like chopping nuts or shredding a few carrots you still have to assemble the four piece lid and then take it apart and wash each piece as they are all exposed to the food. Large Chunks of food even whole mini carrots get stuck under the rim of the lid wasting food product and making cleaning even more tedious. Water gets under the black portion of the lid that never fully dries.....mold? Not cool. Also, carrots stained the clear plastic after the first use, despite using vinegar, dishwasher, hand washing....I find myself not using it if I need to process just one thing because of the hassle of taking it apart and cleaning the whole thing....which takes way more time than chopping by hand....I feel like if you get this complex food processor you'll also need to invest in a mini food processor with less pieces and cleanup. I want something large capacity but easier to use and clean with less pieces necessary. I don't want to have two food processors!

I have used this twice since I purchased it. Both times it was easy to use and clean up was quick.Performed well-like the storage box for the blades.

stylish AND functional
from New Jersey
After debating for some time between this and another brand with comparable price and review ratings, I chose this one because of the ExactSlice feature. Supereasy to use and clean, despite the many parts. I also really like the convenient storage caddy that keeps everything organized and in one place in my cabinet. Great product that is as stylish as it is functional (I have the silver one), and it is not ridiculously loud.
Worth the Money
It's not perfect but is well worth the money. Everything feels solid and well built.
This food processor does everything as promised. Live it!

I was frustrated with my old machine that did not chop or slice evenly. I'm so glad I've got this machine that provides the ability to adjust the depth of slice and the speed of chopping. The sealed work bowl is great!
Disappointed....especially with customer service
from Bear de
I bought my kitchenaid a week and 2 days ago and when I got it home it was missing the food pusher so I am unable to use it. I contacted customer service last Sunday via email and never received a response. I called last Monday (9 days ago) , the hold time was approx 20 min which I didn't have so I provided my # for a call back when the next customer rep became available...only to get a call 2 or 3 hours later. When I did speak to someone i was told they would send the part to me via FedEx within 5 days and still don't have it. I'll give it a few more days but I'm very disappointed that I haven't been able to try my food processor. I'm sure I will like it is I ever get the parts I need.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

nice machine strong enough to handle a busy household of growing kids with a large appetite for home grown food

I have dreamed about having kitchenaid food processor so when I found it on clearance I jumped to buy it. I was ecstatic to bring it home and try it out only to be disappointed to find out the food pusher was missing and of course the machine will not work without it (great safety feature but poor for me). I contacted customer service and now have to wait a week to try my new machine. I'm sure I'll love it as soon as I can use it.

I am sure when I get the replacement in, I will love this food processor. My processor cross threaded and the very first time I used it and I can't get the top on or off! Waiting on the replacement.
