I bought this last month to replace a Cuisinart. I am so glad I went with this one!! For one thing you can put actual food into the chute. You don't have to cut up food(which always seemed to defeat the purpose). It is a nice wide slot. You don't dump out the sharp knife when you empty the bowl- the knife stays in place. Removing the slicing blade doesn't require you to hold a sharp object by the rim, it has finger holes on top so you get a firm grip. This machine is very well engineered and answers all the questions you had for years when you asked why did they do that? Now you say wow, it's great they finally did that!!!It's a wonderful tool in the kitchen, as evidenced by this year's gingerbread house, which it powered right through!

This machine does what it claims....chops, slices, etc. But it is a pain in the butt. If you have a small and quick job like chopping nuts or shredding a few carrots you still have to assemble the four piece lid and then take it apart and wash each piece as they are all exposed to the food. Large Chunks of food even whole mini carrots get stuck under the rim of the lid wasting food product and making cleaning even more tedious. Water gets under the black portion of the lid that never fully dries.....mold? Not cool. Also, carrots stained the clear plastic after the first use, despite using vinegar, dishwasher, hand washing....I find myself not using it if I need to process just one thing because of the hassle of taking it apart and cleaning the whole thing....which takes way more time than chopping by hand....I feel like if you get this complex food processor you'll also need to invest in a mini food processor with less pieces and cleanup. I want something large capacity but easier to use and clean with less pieces necessary. I don't want to have two food processors!

I am very disappointed in my new food processor.

I'm very disappointed in this food processor. It will not work. The buttons will not readily punch on. I have carefully gone through the directions. shredded cheese once and thought it would work. I threw the box away. No results after that. I thought I had it figured out. I have about an 18 year old professional model of Kitchenaide that I loved. Plastic on it is crumbling now. That is the reason for the new one. I need to send this one back but nothing to put it in.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Received as a gift. Was surprised how light the base is, making it a snap to move from cabinet to counter.
Amazing Kitchen Tool
from Mesa, Az
This is an amazing Food Processor. The ExactSlice will cut your vegetables either really really thin, or nice and thick to suite your needs at the time. I see this appliance lasting for years, it's quality made. Naturally it did the cookie crust no problem, but I also did really thick carrot slices for a side dish recipe in seconds! This is versatile to save time with many kitchen tasks.
So glad I bought this!!!

Love this. The 2 different size bowls make it easier to whip up salsa. Very well-made and durable.
I Love It

I'm a care provider for a medical adult foster care home for disabled veterans. I typically cook for 6-10 people. Just started using my new food processor making scalloped potatoes and a cheesecake (85th birthday cake). I love the features and am ordering food processor cookbooks to make healthier meals for all the guys. KitchenAid ROCKS!
Wish the Dicer Attacment Would Fit
Cumbersome as compared to my last KA model. Finally figured it out. Really wish the Dicer Attachment would be compatible. :(

I bought this a month ago and returned it. The bowl came scratched which lead me to believe that it would continue to scratch and that base was made of a thin plastic.
Difficult to use
from Victoria BC Canada
Despite following directions and working through all the pieces this FP comes with I am finding it difficult to use. It is difficult to open and close and food readily gets stuck in the lid.I like the way it chops and slices but why do the buttons have to be so difficult to push on and off. Why only the high or low speed? It is a big machine to have on the counter and the power does not seem that strong.I had a small Kitchen Aid processor that quit at 14 months old. The motor gave out. I feel the same thing is going to happen with this. This FP was a gift and I would not gift it to a friend.
