iRobot Mirra 530 Pool Cleaning Robot - M530020

Take the work of out of cleaning your pool with the iRobot Mirra 530 Pool Cleaning Robot. Mirra uses
enhanced robotic technology to deep clean pool surfaces and water, removing leaves, hair and dirt, as well as algae,
pollen and bacteria as small as two microns. Mirra has a self-contained vacuum, pump and filter, so it won't strain
your existing systems. An added bonus is energy cost savings from running these systems less frequently. And
because there's no installation required, you simply drop it in the pool, turn it on and let it go.

Designed to clean any type of residential in-ground pool, Mirra 530 lifts grime off the pool floors and walls
with a PVC scrubbing brush, including at the water line where oils and bacteria can build up. Just drop it in, press the
CLEAN button and Mirra is off to work, pumping and filtering 70 gallons (265 litres) of water per minute – that's over a
gallon a second. It also reduces heated hot spots and keeps chlorinated water evenly distributed as it disburses
filtered water throughout your pool, capturing debris as tiny as two microns. By comparison, the diameter of the
average human hair is 70 microns. PVA wheels keep Mirra grounded on slick pool surfaces.

Mirra 530 uses enhanced robotic technology, including iAdapt® Nautiq Responsive Cleaning Technology
For Pools to size up the approximate dimensions of the pool, then chooses the optimum cleaning cycle for maximum
efficiency. Mirra provides the most thorough cleaning by making multiple passes over the entire inside of the pool,
navigating obstacles, climbing walls and stairs, changing directions when necessary and making sure not to tangle its
power cord.

Mirra 530 is the easiest pool cleaning robot to use and maintain, offering single push-and-play operation with
the iRobot CLEAN button. When the job is done, two quick-drain valves on the bottom of the robot allow for fast
draining and lightweight handling. It's easy to clean the debris out of Mirra's two, top-load filter canisters. Simply lift
out the basket and open the trap door, which doesn't require the removal and dumping of pool water and chemicals
into the environment. Optional large-debris canisters are available for heavier pool clean-ups, including during the fall
season. Mirra is easy to move from the pool to a storage area with the optional carrying caddy.

Features:

  • Dual Top Load Filter Canisters – Easy-to-remove canisters allow you to quickly access and remove debris – simply
lift out the basket, open the trap door and take our debris.

  • iAdapt® Nautiq Responsive Cleaning Technology – Mirra 530 provides complete pool coverage and a thorough cleaning with the iAdapt Nautiq Responsive Cleaning Technology. This technology sizes up the approximate dimensions of the pool then choose the optimum cleaning cycle for maximum efficiency. This system also allows the Mirra 530 to make multiple passes, avoid obstacles, and climb walls and stairs.

  • Active Scrubbing Brush ‐ The PVC scrubbing brush is actively geared to the motors of the robot. This 4:1 gear ratio provides active agitation to the pool surface as the robot moves, allowing Mirra to scrub and lift leaves, hair, dirt, algae, and bacteria off the pool floor and walls.

  • Two Powerful Motors ‐ Mirra has one motor to drive the robot and another to pump and filter 70 gallons of water per minute to clean the pool as fast as possible. As Mirra moves, it reduces heated hot spots and keeps chlorinated water evenly distributed as it disburses filtered water throughout the pool.

  • PVA Wheels ‐ These wheels give Mirra sponge-like traction on slick pool surfaces like ceramic or vinyl. Optional rubber wheels provide optimum performance on rough surface like gunite. No Installation Required - Simply plug Mirra in, drop it in the water, push the CLEAN button, and watch it scour your pool from top to bottom. The self-contained vacuum, pump, and filter system work without suction lines or other modifications to existing systems, so your pool's systems work less, require less maintenance, and are less costly to operate.

We had our pool cleaner iRobot for over 6 months. I used to plug in my sucker hose after scrubbing the entire pool with my long handled brush than vacuum the pool once every weekend, it always took at least an hour at a minimum.
Now I drop Sally into our pool, plug her in and there she goes, cleans every inch of the pool, floor, wall even the stairs, runs for four hours as advertised, then I just unplug and plug her in again for another four hour run. I take her out, pull out her two baskets and quickly rinse them with a garden hose--total work time on my part at the most five minutes, total work time on sally's part 8 hours and she doesn't need a baby-sitter. Let her do all the work which leaves me all the free time I want. So 32 hours of cleaning a month for the last 6 months and she works as if I just pulled her from the box, totally worth the investment. I am a very Happy customer--the reason we bought the IRobot pool cleaner is that we were really impressed with our 600 series house iRobot. We love them both like family an so happy we bought them.

Cleans our 15x30 pool. Easy to drop in pool and turn on. Repairs are much easier than other types of pool cleaners. This unit seems to be built to allow easy access to change moyor, wheels, and other parts that eventually wear out. So repairs can be a DIY project, however, parts are hard to find and they are very expensive. Other robots use only 1 mesh filter bags that can be found locally for about $30. The Irobot uses 2 filter baskets that cost $99 each plus S&H and/or tx. Does not remove dustlike particles from pool floor. Basket must be cleaned after every use and if you use a little too much water pressure (needed to clean filter material) it tears the filter from the filter frame. Covers my entire deep end but rarely ever cleans the shalloe 1/3 of the pool unless I direct it with a pole. Never cleans my steps. I am truly sorry I opted to save a money and changed to this unit. My old Aquabot Brav did a much better job of keeping my pool clean. It did cost more money to purchase and was more difficult to repair but it was worth the difference and the parts were readily available amd more reasonably priced.

Comments about iRobot Mirra 530 Pool Cleaning Robot:

I moved into a house with a pool for the first time this year. Although I have a professional service come out every week to maintain the pool, I found that leaves and pet hair were a problem in between visits. I run the Mirra once a week between professional visits and it keeps the pool sparkling clean.

I saw another review that said that their robot does not pick up fine sand, but I will say that my unit consistently picks up sand (I assume it comes from the pavers around the pool deck when it rains). It's great at picking up pet hair (I have a flat-coated retriever that sheds a great deal) and after every rain there are always leaves in the pool that need to be cleaned up.

I will say there is a design flaw in the baskets that is more an annoyance to me than adversely affecting its ability to work, but the dog hair is stuck up on one side of the debris filter where I cannot access it to pull it out or wash it out with water, it's just tangled up there. It still works, though.

It will occasionally get stuck on the steps that are on the deep end of the pool and stick out a bit and need me to manually unstick it. I haven't seen it clean the other steps in the shallow end, but I could just be oblivious. It *does* take three hours, but it saves me a lot of work and keeps the pool much nicer than I could doing it by myself.

Comments about iRobot Mirra 530 Pool Cleaning Robot:

After normal use for a couple of years, it is now completely worn. The prop and the motor failed as well. Needed 4 brushes, 2 sets of filters and 2 sets of wheels. Cleaning the filter is a mess. There are many corners where debris gets stuck. I bought new filters recently but iRobot did not change a thing and the same problems are still there (like the handle keeps popping out). The gears are so worn that the wheels can turn without turning the motor. The bearings on the brush as completely worn, the brush kept falling out and I had to find the parts on the pool floor. iRobot does not send out spare parts besides wheel and brushes.

Be careful about buying one of these. I had the previous model of cleaner, and it turns out that it is actually made by another company in New Jersey. For warranty service, I had to ship it there and my warranty service ended up costing me over $225 and it still never worked correctly.

Comments about iRobot Mirra 530 Pool Cleaning Robot:

I've had my Mirra for going on 3 summers. After the first year the handles on the baskets broke off. Small plastic tabs.Their only answer was to give me a dicount on new baskets instead of offering a much cheaper handle replacement. Under best selling parts are the baskets, no wonder but at $100 dollars each I'm not buying them. The Mirra is the best pool robot we've ever had but unless they redesign the handles on the baskets I'd never buy another one. This is an expensive unit that works great but looks like junk with broke off handles. We own many other Irobot products but are very disappointed in their lack of support on this issue.

Don't buy!!!! Not durable. Have owned a relatively short time. Handle broke off basket. Can't replace handle. Have to pay $99.00 for new filter basket. Foam wheel has already come off. Too expensive! Ineffective. I should have read reviews first but I didn't because I have used my indoor roomba for years and I love it. I've sold many friends on it. It's a part of our family. Irobot should not have strayed from their indoor robots. This pool robot is horrible!!!!!!!

I've always hated cleaning the pool. It a dirty and hard job that takes up a lot of time. So i decided to buy the mirra and give it a shot. First time watching it go around my pool, i was mesmerized. I have vinyl siding and there are some overlapping portions where dirt and sand get stuck in. And the mirra cleans it perfectly, the brushes agitate the surface enough that it will lift stuck on surfaces, and not just the things laying on top. It really is a good robot and always leaves my pool very clean. In fact, I actually was hosting a pool party one day. A while i was preparing the food, i threw in the mirra and by the time everybody got there. it was clean, and another time i used it was before we had to close our pool for the winter. So the day before i threw it in as well. And when they came, they said "this was the cleanest pool they've ever closed." The only things that can be annoying is when your cleaning out the bins. It can be hard to wash out some of the grime that gets stuck in there, but it still easier than cleaning a whole pool by hand. I'm so satisfied with this product, it actually convinced me to buy a roomba. And so far, its also been great!

I've always used the tiger shark to clean my inground pool. After 3 years of service it died and I ordered the iRobot Mirra product for this year. I miss my sparkling clean pool so much! The tiger shark cleaned all of the fine debris at the bottom of the pool with its scrubbers that worked it loose so that it could be sucked up. The Mirra does not have this and therefore there is an entire layer of brown sandy type dirt in my pool that the Mirra doesn't touch. That is never there with tiger shark. The tiger shark has two cylinders that constantly loosen up the dirt so that it can be cleaned away. Get a tiger shark.

The Mirra 530 does a much better job than the pool guy ever did so for that I would say it was worth the year's worth of service this robot cost relative to what I was paying him.

With that said, the overall robustness of the design is lacking in some areas. Specifically, I would prefer it if the brush assembly were more solidly attached. As designed it uses a spring-loaded brush that mates between two floating spacers(?). Over the 2 years I used it the brush got looser to the point where one end was moving around and wearing down the mounting hole. Today the brush basically just falls out. The robot doesn't do anything when turned on except sit in one spot while pushing water with its fan. I can officially say my robot's chassis is worn out. Seems pretty bad for the actual robot housing to be the failing element and not the brush, wheels, filter or some other easily replacable item.

One other thought ... you should consider adding Wifi messaging to the unit (maybe the power supply?) to notify when it is done cleaning. Maybe it could also have it provide some interesting data about the cleaning cycly (runtime, whether it thought the pool was clean/dirty, any maintenance recommedations).
