i have a tiny kitchen and was looking for a small fridge that would serve as my primary unit. My previous unit died after 20 + years of hard work. I bought the same brand as i owned before because of the space restrictions. It was a luxury brand that cost 6 times more than GE. Long story short- unit never worked properly, couldn't not be repaired and two replacement were faulty as well. Incredible! High end! So I searched and found GE which was smaller than the original but at this point I had no choice. I'm happy with the unit. It is working as expected. Freezer section gets cold enough that i can freeze food products with no problems. I wished that the door shelves would have bars that would stay in position. Smaller items tend to slide out when the bar moves. Overall it is a great little unit. Thank you!

We live in a small apartment and needed a replacement refrigerator of precisely these dimensions (to fit into a built-in space), so we bought it, and unfortunately were disappointed in several ways. First off, the can dispenser. It takes up a lot of very valuable space, and if you don't use a lot of soda or beer cans, it's wasted. I had assumed we might be able to use that space in some other way, but the way it's constructed there are really no options. Second, the shelf layout. Because the "freezer" (more on that in a moment) runs the width of the refrigerator, and there are very limited choices re adjusting the shelves, tall bottles (sauces, etc.) are hard to store. The freezer in our previous unit was narrower and taller, so that tall bottles could fit on the side. Not the case here. Third -- and this is by far the biggest disappointment -- the "freezer". Nothing I'd read before ordering this unit made me aware that the "freezer" IS NOT REALLY A FREEZER. When you read the instructions that come with the refrigerator you discover that GE does not recommend storing things in the "freezer" for more than a few days. The reason is simple: unlike the unit it replaced, the 'freezing' element in this one only has a bottom and sides -- no top. In other words, there is a wide U-shaped steel cooling element hanging below the top of the refrigerator, but instead of it being steel on the top of it as well, the top is the same fiberglass (I assume) that is on the bottom and sides of the rest of the refrigerator. So when we put bread in there, instead of freezing it just goes stale; in order for the unit to make ice it needs to remain at the coldest setting; and forget keeping ice cream in there. This is a GE product? Unbelievable. We are really unhappy with it, which I would NEVER have expected from GE.

Comments about GE Black Spacemaker Compact Refrigerator:
I can't get the ice cube trays to freeze the water inside them. It could be something I'm doing. In all fairness, I've not read the instructions.

Great little mini fridge!

This was a replacement for one that we had for 16 years. We are happy with the appearance and performance. We are using it under the counter in a space that was constructed for the original one. Works perfectly. Quiet...seems to be efficient. Keeps things very cold and plenty of space. My one suggestion....please make one without fixed soda can placement. Seems that everyone has that and it is wasted space for us since we are not soda drinkers. I guess this was designed based on a college kid market. Other than that....perfect.
Under the counter frig.

Got this at my college trunk party...it's durable...enough space so all of my goodies for properly and with it being moved around a bunch, it really isn't that heavy.

I needed to replace a GE undercounter refrigerator that just stopped working about a month ago. I'm so glad that I found this model online. I need just the right size as it is a built in. This model was perfect! I also wanted it in black, which it came in this model. Very pleased!
Perfect Undercounter bar fridge

This little fridge fit perfectly in the space where the old fridge had been. I was worried I would not be able to find a replacement. Love the can storage, and the adjustable arm on the door, so we can store bigger bottles there.
