Received this refrigerator a few days ago to replace a 30" wide, bottom freezer GE refrigerator (shallow depth - 25" without doors) which is no longer manufactured. While this top mount is deeper (28.3" deep without doors), it fit through a 29.5" door opening without issue (with doors removed). Overall this is a good 30" refrigerator for a secondary kitchen, but it is much noisier then the one I replaced, and much noisier than a GE Artica 36" Cabinet depth I have in the primary kitchen. I wish GE made a Profile version of this standard 30" refrigerator for $200 more with noise reduction padding, premium lighting, and better shelves. The interior shelves are cheaper construction (both glass and wire ones) than previous models. I surveyed most of the competition and this GE is still better than most. If it had noise reduction I would give it a 5, but the louder sound rates it a 4 for me.

This replaced a 24 year old GE unit. The crisper bins are too big/deep. Less room on the shelves where it's needed. Up front controls take up head room for tall items on the top shelf. Once I set the controls I don't need them again. The tunnel for the controls takes up valuable space. Too much wasted space around the ice maker...unit should be 1-1/2 - 2 " higher and the ice bin should be narrower and taller. See pic. I added a shelf above the ice maker for thin items and had to make a screen to fill in the opening in the back corner of the ice bin, ice was falling out of the bin on the stuff below. All in all this unit is about .75 cu. ft. larger than the one it replaced but I feel I have less usable room inside. We were pressed to get a replacement when the old ond failed. If we had had more time to look, I don't think I would have purchased it. And no 5 or 7 yr. warranty on the compressor/closed system?

I bought this a week ago and i m not satisfy with this product at all bcz it did so much noise sometimes and i couldn't recognize where it comes from and its a really terrific noise and also whn the lowe's guys r came to install this product, tht time they did scratch on it outside and whn they went away i was just check my refrigerator and i found scratches on inside too and on its parts too. Feel like they send us display piece so i m not a satisfy with this product at all.

I wanted factory installed ice maker, doesn't automatically stop. Shelving he did, was half glass and half wire and if I realized that, I wouldn't have gotten it. I trusted sale man, the one I saw and what I got was different.
bought this as a beverage frig...not cold enough.

Not cold enough for my tastes. It was purchased as a beverage frig and overflow from the main frig. This one just doesn't seem all that cold and I've got it on it's lowest setting.
ice cube tray, on/off switch and the fridge light
By steve and pat

The ice cube tray in my opinion is not designed efficiently. The rear left corner is notched with a square cutout that lets the ice spill into the rear of the freezer compartment. The On/Off switch for the ice maker is in a position that can very easily be turned off without realizing it. The light above the top shelf of the refrigerator is positioned on the right side and makes the left side a little dark
Basic, but dependable!
No surprises. Everything just works. Hassle free and reasonably priced. Exactly what I wanted in an appliance.

This was a replacement for one we used as a Backup and has fit our needs well.
