Heavy gauge grates
from Clarks Summit, PA
Comments about Weber Porcelain Enameled Cooking Grates:
Needed new grates for my Weber Skyline 1200 (Sears model). Read reviews of the standard replacement grates that are hollow and tend to warp. These are heavy gauge cast iron, porcelain coated, and are the closest replacement to the original grates, according to Weber Customer Service. The model number is current, replacing a different model number. Abt had the best price when you consider the extra shipping costs at most other dealers. So far, the grates have held up well to maximum heat. The main difference from the original grates is that these have a horizontal ridge, which separates the grates into horizontal compartments; which keeps burgers from moving too far when you try to get under to flip them. If you e-mail Weber with your model number they will tell you whether these grates will fit your grill, if you are not sure.
