I've made smoothies almost daily with this for about 5 months. I use frozen fruit- sometimes I add ice to them. It's not the greatest with whole ice but it does better than any other blender I've used. It's great with the frozen fruit. And the cleanup is sooo easy!! Absolutely hassle free. Smoothies & cleanup in less than 5 mins!! Gave one to my mother for Xmas. The ONLY reason it's not 5 stars is because of the price, but ABT was by far the best price I could find. (Bought it twice!!)

First impressions can be deceiving. Not that it looks bad, but the pitcher appears small. It's not. Also, the pitcher does not anchor firmly to the motor. Not a problem however. It doesn't go anywhere when running and I don't have to fight it in and out of the mount.
This may be the best part; no separate base to the pitcher. One less thing to unscrew, clean and, eventually, break.
There are only two speeds. Fine for me as all I need are fast and slow, but if you need more precise control, this may not work for you.

Pros:
Blender has very basic controls which I like. You don't really need 10 different speeds. It has a good strong motor. The blade bolts into the bottom of the pitcher, which means no leaking around the base. I like the cloverleaf pitcher design, it seems to make the contents mix better. Last but not least it looks good on the counter.
Cons:
My biggest problem is the pitcher doesn't snap into place on the base, it just kind of sits there. I thought this would make it jump off the gear and slip, but it hasn't been a problem yet. The pitcher is slightly smaller than others. The blade doesn't come out of the pitcher making cleaning different, however pour a little soapy water in..turn it on...rinse and its clean. Slight motor smell at first, but seems to go away with use.
