It is so quiet that I have to check if I started it! Glasses sparkle and dishes shine! One tiny annoyance is that the holes in the silverware divider are different sizes (every other row is small then bigger) and my forks and tablespoons only fit in the bigger ones and I can't tell which are the bigger holes when there is already silverware in it! I suppose I could remove the basket covers but I like the way the silverware comes out cleaner when separare! It's always a 50-50 shot that my forks and tablespoons will drop into the basket! Otherwise love it!

This dishwasher did not meet my expectations for these reasons:1) The website for KDTM354ESS shows a third rack for kitchen utensils, but the unit does NOT come with it (see attached picture from their website).2) The unit leaves excessive moisture on the inside overnight. I've used many dishwashers over the decades and never saw this issue before.3) The unit's design can cause damage to the cabinets. The reason for this is there's a vent on the SIDE of the door. The installation instructions indicate the unit is to be installed flush with the cabinets. However, this side vent on the unit installed as instructed causes two issues for me:a) The steam directly hits the cabinet face, which becomes extremely hot to the touch.b) Steam entered the inside of my cabinet interior. It then condensed on the underside of the granite and dripped down inside the cabinet interior onto the cabinet.4) The User Instructions clearly state the heated drying cycle "Uses the heating element and a fan to remove moist air." However, I never heard the fan run during the heated drying cycle (with or without ProDry selected). When I made a service call to say that the fan never runs during the heated drying cycle, the service tech was told by the tech on their hotline that the fan is operating normally (i.e. it's not supposed to run during the heated drying cycle - the opposite of what the User directions say). This is important because the fan is designed to exhaust air out of the BOTTOM of the unit instead of allowing steam to escape out of the top side of the unit through the vent mentioned in #3.I'm completely dissatisfied with my purchase.

Have used it for a month and so far we're very happy with clean dishes and quiet operation. Does not have the water softener option that our other home's dishwasher has, the timer display is hidden under the counter, and the handle design makes it easy to put finger marks on the SS when closing the door - but these are minor issues. The main thing: it does CLEAN the dishes!

We have had two dishwashers prior to this that did not give us "clean" dishes! Imagine that.....Basically, you would expect a dishwasher to clean your dishes. Finally - the Kitchen Aid does a great job of not leaving pieces of food or residue on the dishes and the glasses are not cloudy. In addition, the dishwasher runs quietly and is well designed inside. This has been a good end to a frustrating journey.

This is a long overdue replacement. Wish I had done it sooner!

great dishwasher. dries like no other.no drops of water on cups anywhere. And its so quiet u dont know its running..Only thing is if u have oversize coffee mugs its hard to set them up without touching each other and no room for bowls on top shelf with those mugsbut other then that it washes great on all the cycles i have tried works like a charm

This replaced a 10 year old GE Profile dishwasher. I have never seen the dishes as clean as they are now. I put my stained coffee pot in on express wash and it cam out shinning. The rack seems to fits anything and everything neatly. I think its a bit smaller than our old one but its of little concern. The regular wash with dry is pretty long cycle over two hours. With the stainless tub and hot water you really don't need a dry cycle . Anyways this is a very good dishwasher and we are pleased with it.

I bought this appliance last August. It is an excellent product and a great decision to buy it. It is so quiet and very efficient and the fact it has an express wash is the best for me who uses it daily

I thought my old dishwasher was ok until I bought this one. Thankfully they have lights on this and a timer to let you know that it is on because it's so quiet you can't hear it working.

Stays closed with Duct Tape

8 month old dishwasher and I have to use DUCT TAPE to keep it closed if I want to use the "sanitize" option. The heat makes the thing open in mid cycle. This results in all of the lights on the panel going blank so that I have no idea if it has cleaned my dishes. I'm so glad that we spent $11,000 on KitchenAid appliances for our new home. Can't wait to go back to Samsung. (See my review on my wall oven KOSE500ESS, the one that has had 3 error messages in 8 months, the one for which I had to wait 3 months for the wrong color control panel. The one that made me think my cabinets may catch on fire.)
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Yep, that's duct tape.
Finally clean dishes
Bought this based on Consumer Reports reviews to replace dishwasher that was in the house we purchased. Very quiet. Easy to load and configure dishes. Have tried most cycles. Dishes come out exceptionally clean no matter how dirty they are. Best dishwasher I've owned.
