Just got this stove a few weeks ago, so remains to be seen how it holds up but it looks beautiful - very sleek and professional and is easy to use for both myself (a total novice cook/baker) and my husband (a professional chef). We haven't tried out all the features yet but the basics we love - especially having the electric convection oven and gas stovetop. Have not heard great reviews about the self-cleaning feature but we haven't tried it yet ourselves. We are happy with the look, features and quality for the price - it operates like a professional range at a mid-range price.

A word of warning to those purchasing a KitchenAid Range. In December 2015, we purchased a 5 Burner, Dual Fuel, Convention Range with baking drawer. Christmas Day 2016 - oven stops working, giving us only an error message that the cooling fan isn't working. No response from KitchenAid Customer Service. Since it is no longer on the one year warranty (2 weeks over), we can't find anyone to service it for 2 weeks. No oven for Christmas or New Year's. Very frustrating. I would assume that an appliance would last more than one year especially with the price we paid for what we thought was an upper end range. I hope this review will persuade others to look at other options.

Looks great, doesn't work great
from Grinnell, IA
I love the look of my dual fuel 5 burner convection oven but the love stops there. It takes 15-20 to preheat and the burners are just too hot in front, not strong enough in back. I just can't complete a meal correctly using either of the front burners and I've been a home cook for a long time. I've never had a cooktop that required me to move the equipment around to separate burners to achieve the goal. The baking drawer is a great feature but it doesn't bake particularly well. And the oven is lovely- the three racks and their features are great! But I never actually use the convection converter because the oven doesn't get hot enough to require the adjustment. We've had repair people out for several issues we had within the first 6 months and they always just shrug their shoulders. It's a really beautiful piece of equipment. It just doesn't deliver in the practical, functional ways.

This is one beautiful looking range. It 's distinctive, elegant simplicity is eye catching. I keep a microfiber cloth handy to keep the shine on the beautifully designed front panel. I've had it in service for a week so I haven't put it through the paces yet. So far baked a dish in the electric oven and the results were excellent. Getting used to the gas burners as they have more power than my old gas range. For the money in the dual fuel category this range is an excellent choice. If you want a modern and elegant look that is not over powering this will fit the bill.

Gas cook top is amazingly precise and electric oven is incredibly accurate.
Amazing range and oven! Worth the switch.

I decided to switch to gas when my oven broke. I researched everything from Viking to LG. This oven was purchased through my local appliance dealer. As a chef, this is an appliance that is complex enough for the most experienced chef. I like the small baking drawer for small cooking needs.

This is an update to an earlier review I wrote complaining about the hot oven knobs. I now know after cooking for 16 months this stove is unusable for me: the Aqualift system does not clean the oven insides except minor spills on the oven floor. This means you need to get down on your knees and scrub the walls, sides and back. The inside roof stays coated with grease from cooking (especially if you use convection for meats) because the heat coil prevents hands from getting up there. Kitchenaid insists Aqualift "works". Indeed it does. It just doesn't clean my oven. It does make a puddle of warm water that is under the boiling point so it's not even steam. If you just bake cookies and use the stove top, this might be good for you. If you roast chicken and meat, you will have a grease coated oven in no time. Kitchenaid's only solution to this after many interactions: they will give me a discount on buying a new range from them but I must pay for installation and have present range disconnected when they bring the new one.

Extremely disappointed with my purchase. The bottom cooking drawer is completely useless. The drawer space is only about 3 inches high, so you can't fit much in the drawer, and it does not cook very evenly. The stove has simmer options, however, the heat never gets low enough to simmer anything, everything boils. Would not recommend!
Cooling Fan Problems...
from Chicago, IL
I read a review a couple of pages back that said the same thing. "Cooling Fan Too Slow" error 10 months into owning this fund. I've always been told the more electric parts the easier things break
Buyer beware - does not function well
I am so terribly disappointed by my product purchase. I rarely write reviews, but wanted to do my part in preventing someone else in having the same buyer's regret that I do. I've owned this range for 3 months now and am already on my second service call. The most recent problem is an error message that renders the entire unit unsable until a service technician comes out. I am going on one week now with no oven. The larger persisting problem is that the oven takes over 20 minutes to preheat to 425. For a busy working mom, forget ever getting dinner on the table on time with this unit. When I had a service call on this, KitchenAid informed me that this is normal and it takes so long to preheat because of the hidden heating element that ensures even cooking. Unfortunately my third complaint about this product is how unevenly the oven bakes. The cooking drawer is essentially useless for baking as cupcakes will be raw in the front and burned in the bake of the cupcake pan. The larger oven itself also bakes unevenly. My fourth complaint (more minor then the repeated need for service calls, unreasonably long preheat time, and uneven baking), is that the digital control panel is overly sensitive and not intuitive. In summary - I absolutely would not recommend this unit. The only thing I like about it is the appearance, which at the end of the day is not all that important when the oven is completely unusable. As a side note - I found KitchenAid's customer service to be embarrassingly bad, with very little interest in customer satisfaction.

Happy with the purchase. Hard to keep clean, and takes 15minutes to preheat. Besides that I have been happy with it.
