KitchenAid has vastly improved its product line, and this slide-in gas range is close to perfect in terms of price, features, and aesthetics. I was torn between the KSGG700 and competing models from Samsung and Bosch, but went with KitchenAid because I have a strong feeling that parts and service will be much easier and cheaper to come by in the future. Also, by placing the glass touchscreen controls horizontally in front of the burners, the range retains a very clean and commercial look to it, which the others don't. It's really gorgeous in person, and the materials are of excellent quality. I would've liked to have been able to buy the KSGG900 version with its additional features and stainless steel surface under the burners, but I wasn't interested in paying a premium for those features. I should note that I purchased the range from a small retailer in my city rather than a big box store, and I felt good about supporting a local company. Their price was actually less than the big box stores, too!

Pros: The stove looks greatCons: It does not work well as a stove or cooktopI used to have an across the board favorable impression of Kitchenaid after living with their dishwashers for decades. Sadly, this stove broke that notion. The stove simply was designed for looks only and has poor performance both on the cooktop as well as the oven. In the oven I've tried to cook chicken, duck, vegetable gratin, lasagna and many other dishes and all of them came out poorly as a result of the oven not being able to maintain heat evenly inside.I have 2 thermometers inside. I bought them because it was taking me 3+ hours to roast a chicken at 425 and the skin was still not crisp... One is sitting in the top back lefthand one hanging in the front lower right...I discovered that the temp differential between the two at both 350 and 400 is 50-75 degrees ( the upper back being hotter). If you look at the photo I attached you will see a sheet pan of cauliflower and one corner is scorched while the rest are just cooked. This is a great example of how uneven the heat is.The cooktop is problematic as well. The front two burners are the only ones capable of making any heat but they have very poor adjustment. Going from High to Medium results in a drop in flame height of about 1/32 of an inch and no drop in heat output. Going from Medium to Low is where 99% of the flame adjustment is. Just be careful not to move the dial to low too quickly or there is a good chance the flame with extinguish. I have had the service technician from the appliance store here twice already and they make small adjustments but the real problem is the design of this unit. I cannot recommend this stove to anyone except NYC apartment dwellers who use their oven to store clothing.

Burners on the left size of the range

Comments about KitchenAid 30" Black Stainless Steel Slide-In Gas Range:
I purchased my range in Dec 2016. I have not had any issues with it until just now when using the oven and left burners at the same time. If you are using the burners on the left side of the range and have them set on a low setting, (they are the only ones that you can use to keep the heat at a low temp for stews etc),and the oven burner kicks on and off to keep the oven temp at the correct setting, the gas is drawn just enough from the burners is causing the pilot to go out, and since the burner is still turned on the gas escapes from the burner. I noticed this happening this weekend after smelling gas in the kitchen. I am glad I was in and out of the kitchen enough to smell the gas, and turn the burner off. BEWARE AND BE CAUTIOUS!! I love my range, but now am not comfortable using it and as a result have reduced the overall rating.

Heats up fast has sleek look easily accessible burners

I bought this to replace a GE electric stove I have had for 10 years. I love the design and sleek lines it has. Smart design for extra wall room in the back so it doesn't touch the kitchen back splash. easy clean up .

I love the stove and how the oven bakes, but this is NOT a self-cleaning oven. The steam cleaning cycle does not help you clean, like the high heat method does. There is always left over baked on grease if you use the broiler or cook a roast. So you have to climb in and try to clean it with glass top stove cleaner, which also does not remove it all. I had only had this stove for about 3 weeks at Thanksgiving when I tried to clean it the first time, 5 cleaning cycles later, I was on my knees climbing inside, to the back of the oven, to clean what the SELF-CLEANING cycle missed. Over all I love my stove, but the oven was falsely advertised, it it NOT SELF-CLEANING.

Built better than other stoves on the market

This stove performs great. Enjoy the 5th burner. Oven bakes evenly and temperature is spot on. Does not heat up the kitchen like other gas ovens/stoves.

We were beyond thrilled for our new kitchen-aid appliances, especially this stove that was both stylish and functional. 3 months after we bought it, on Christmas day, the stove notified us that there was an error with the cooling fan and that we wouldn't be able to use it. So we ended up having pizza on Christmas day. We called kitchen-aid and weren't able to get an appointment until the following Friday (one week). Once the technician came out he told us that we have to wait another week until we the parts came in. Mind you, we had Christmas dinner waiting in our freezer and family from out of town staying with us. Other foods that didn't fit into the freezer went bad. we had setup the appointment for the technician to install the cooling fan so I stayed home from work. The window of time had come and gone so I called kitchen aid and they told me that the part was delayed so they rescheduled my appointment for Tuesday without notifying me!I am not only utterly disappointing with this product but with the professionalism of this brand. We spent thousands of dollars updating our kitchen appliances only to be met with disappointment.
