I’ve always been a big Samsung fan, so when I the Galaxy S6 came out I was super-excited to get it. This has been the biggest change to the Galaxy series in a very long time, so while there are a lot of things to like, there are a few things to dislike as well. Design: I LOVE the design. Its metal and glass unibody is simply stunning and is very thin and lightweight. My only complaints are that it is very slippery, and that my phone has a couple of dings on the corners of the metal and some scratches on the front and back. I didn’t have a case for it for the first couple of days, so seeing this was very disappointing considering how expensive it is. Screen: If I could describe the screen in one word, it would be perfection. The colors are vibrant and aren’t too saturated at all. Its Quad HD resolution means it’s pin-sharp too, but I think that 1080p is more appropriate for phones. Another thing I love about the screen is that it gets extremely bright for improved outdoor visibility, and adequately dim for using it at night. Camera: The camera is really, really good. Like crazy good. The amount of detail and clarity is insane from just a phone camera, and the colors come out very good as well. Low-light performance is a major improvement over my previous Samsung phones, and the simplistic user interface and new camera features like OIS and Tracking Autofocus are very useful and work great. And the front camera, oh boy, the front camera is just amazing. Great color accuracy, stabilization, clarity, and the wide-angle lens and gesture control are very useful when taking selfies (if that’s your thing). Performance: This was a shocker for me, but I wasn’t impressed with its performance. And, that’s actually not a bad thing at all. My S6 runs very fast and smoothly, and I applaud Samsung for getting rid of most of the lag useless features that plagued previous Galaxies. The only reason I say that I’m not impressed is because my S6 is not much faster than my Note 3, which was already very fast. One thing I do want to mention is that RAM management issue this phone has. While I know Samsung has already acknowledged this glitch and is working on a fix, it is extremely annoying and shouldn’t be happening on any flagship phone. Battery life: Ugh, this is the one thing I don’t like about this phone. Having a Quad HD screen and only a 2550mAH battery (which is smaller than the previous-generation Galaxy S5), there’s no wondering why the S6 has bad battery life. While it’s decent enough for me, it could be a whole lot better. I can get up to 13 hours of battery life on of a single charge, with about 3 to 3.5 hours of screen-on time. Thankfully, there are two power-saving modes, fast charging, and wireless charging to help remedy this. Fast charging is the arguably the most useful. By plugging my phone in for just 15-20 minutes I can get a solid hour or two of extra battery life, which is crazy. I’m not a big fan of the wireless charging though. While it is convenient, it doesn’t charge fast enough. Maybe I’m spoiled by the fast charging, but wireless charging is something I’ll probably only use when I want to charge my phone overnight. My thoughts about the lack of a removable battery and Micro SD: Honestly, I don’t care, and I don’t think that many other people will either. Unless you already carry around a spare battery for your current phone, you won’t care about the lack of a removable battery. I was mad about Micro SD because I actually used one, but I decided to just purchase a higher-storage 64GB model and then transfer everything I had on my Micro SD to my phone, and I was satisfied. I’m actually kind of glad Samsung did this though; now my gallery runs significantly faster and there’s much less of a chance of me losing everything. Other things: The S6 fingerprint scanner is okay. It still has issues recognizing my fingerprints sometimes, which is very annoying, but it’s fast when it does work. The speakers get really loud, and call quality is very good. The new Touch Wiz looks and feels very polished, and it is much simpler to use. The new Samsung keyboard is actually usable now, so useable I actually use it as my default keyboard. That was a very pleasant surprise. I will say that I wish it was still water resistant like the S5 was, but it's not that big of a deal. Overall, I think that the Galaxy S6 is one of the best, if not THE best, smartphone available right now. It has a great screen, fantastic cameras, speedy performance, and great user experience that I think many people will love.

I had to replace, a lost, sturdy , dropped many times, 'wet paper towel wiped off the rubbery screen protector maybe once a week’, adequate, 4 + year old Galaxy 4. You would have had to pry it out of my hands if not lost - because my stomach turns at the thought of a new device and what will follow. These are not shiny new toys - they are -burdens. Got a S6 - Granted the service provider where I purchased, misrepresented it and the value and effect of the screen protector, never mentioned an alternative insurance thru Samsung. Only after the screen broke from minor trauma, 3 days later -- THEN I was told--chastised ! " very fragile" " screen protector prevents smudges" , so fragile "really has to have" a 'full case, - with a back' because the back is glass". From what I can see on line, salesman may have been correct that the Sport not much more resistant to breakage. What difference does it make if its 'pretty' -or Pearl- which I chose because it is hard to find, the black cell, along with the black house phones , black remotes . Super sleek design equals slippery. I am convinced what I have is Cinderella's glass slipper and it will only be safe in a full metal jacket, on a pillow, at home! When one can see a whole new mini industry emerging - for phones from you and your competitors, specifically and only, to " replace broken cell phone screens" - That should tell everyone, something . Adding features, most of which few need or want, and can't easily remove or hide, makes it increasing it difficult to find what one wants, including --basics-like, the microphone. Had to add an ap to mute - and it doesn’t work as well as the ap had to add to the last one ! Getting the phone recognized by my PC was a 2 hour 2 tech ordeal because one has to get to: find about device , builder and tap 7 times to become a developer - to see and be able to access USB connection. Not in the manual . Ridiculous. This is a interconnected problem - THE INDUSTRY has decided, customers don't need to personally, back up, their own phone, on their own PC. And you can't back up much of the phone-phone part . Same complaint as the Galaxy 4, I got mainly, as a phone, and just like the Galaxy 4- it's a lousy phone. You changed where missed call notifications are. Can't hear voice mail unless on speaker -one would think a complaint on line since 2013 would be a quick support call, not 90 mintues, to get fixed - and the fix lasted for 2 hours.

Switched from a S4 to a S6 and I really like the S6 so much better. The battery charges faster and last longer since I can chose between Power Saving mode and Super Power Saving mode. The camera is so much better and some other smaller features are much better. I know it is not an iPhone but since with Straight Talk I buy my own device this phone really gives me what I want for a decent price.

I've had quite a journey with smartphones, from them suddenly not turning on after turning off by itself while charging it overnight and getting a free replacement, to dropping them in the toilet and eventually having it restored, and to having them die and then losing it in public. This is the first smartphone I've bought in at least a few years. It may not be the newest in the S series, but I'm very satisfied with it. The charger that came with it charges the battery so quickly. And the camera is so much better compared to the other cameras on previous smartphones I have owned. There are a few small features I don't like, simply because they are different than what my previous phone, the first generation Moto X, had and I'm not used to them yet. I also thought it was a little too expensive for being a 2 year old phone, but maybe it's because it's still a valuable product. Overall, I am mostly happy with it and hope to have it as long as possible.

I don't use the phone to its fullest potential but look forward to making it work harder. Cons are only because for my life, I can oral most dump my PC and exist with just the phone.
