We purchased this dehumidifier to replace an old unit that was really showing it's age. The difference between this Frigidaire and others that we have owned is amazing. To start with, the appearance of this unit is sharp, sleek and contemporary and fits so well in almost any setting. You can't help but notice the uncompromising quality in the construction of every part of this right away, and you feel like you have purchased something that will last a very long time. It just feels so solid and substancial. The controls are well placed and are very easy to learn and to use, which is always a plus. The very occasional maintenance that is needed is very simple and quick and takes no time at all to do. The container that holds the water collected is very easy to remove, carry, empty and replace. It is a very efficiently running unit. which really helps on keeping your electric bills down. If you have ever owned a dehumifier, you know that one of the biggest things you have to consider when buying one is exactly how much noise it produces when running. We are very happy with how quiet this particular one is, even after reading all of the complimentary reviews by others. We find that running it with the fan on the low, the quietest setting, moves more than enough air around even in a big room, and believe this would be all most situations would require. And it's not just exactly how loud it is that matters, but also the type of sound that an appliance makes that is important, and this one makes what seems like a smoother sound that doesn't sound harsh at all to us. It is very easy to live with, and that is a big deal! Lets face it, writing a review as long as this does take some time and thought to do, but we were happy to do it, because there are some products out there that just deserve to have good things written about them, and this Frigidaire is definitely one of them. We couldn't be more pleased with this unit and believe it to be the very best dehumidifier out there. Not one of the best, but absolutely the best by a good margin. We don't think you can go wrong with this one!

I accidentally bought this unit to replace a 70-pint/day model that I had for about 5 years. I say accidentally, because I chose this 30-pint/day model by looking at the size of the bucket on the dehumidifier that I was replacing and making the mistake of thinking that the capacity of the bucket was similar to the per day capacity of the dehumidifier. Instead, the capacity of the bucket appears to be around half the per day capacity of the unit. The unit works well enough, but the bucket is so small that the unit is inconvenient for the basement (20' x 30') for which I bought it. I have to empty the bucket more than once per day, and if I go away for more than one night, I'm sure that the unit gets full within the first twelve hours, and then the humidity is back out of control for the remainder of my trip. The unit would likely be fine if I had it connected to a hose, so that it could drain without any human intervention, but that also isn't practical for me. Also, it seems (again, this could be a lack of education on my part) like the humidity meter and the mechanism to set desired humidity are not as accurate as the 70-pint/day model. After buying this unit and realizing that it is too small, I bought a 70ppd unit and put them both together in the basement about 15' apart. The humidity readings on the two units can vary by as much as 15%, with the reading on the 30ppd model always being higher, and judging by how the basement feels, I think the 70ppd unit is closer to the true value. But strangely, I requently find when I come down to empty the buckets that the 70ppd unit is full, but the 30ppd unit won't appear to have turned on at all. All in all, the unit would probably be fine for a smaller room with a less severe humidity problem, but for my money, I'll always go with the larger model from now on.

I bought this for my 42' travel trailer. It does a great job of keeping the humidity down and keeping mold from growing.

It seems to be working well since it is winter. Not so much humidity. The real test will be the summertime when the humidity is high. I have no complaints at this time
Moisture Be Gone
from Harrisburg, Oregon
I live in a 38 foot motorhome full time, and have been RVing for 37 years. The biggest problem during winter is moisture. My first rig I did not use a dehumidifier in the begining and eventually had problems with the walls delaminating (falling apart). Finally did purchase a dehumidifier and it really kept the moisture from forming on the walls. I have purchased a new rig and the Frigidaire 30 pint dehumidifier keeps it perfectly dry, this is in central Oregon with wet winters. This unit is quiet!, not like the other brand I had before. And easy to place in the RV without it being in the way. Every RVer should have one.
Does as advertised!

I bought this this dehumidifier after a brush with a hurricane that was not a direct hit, but, dumped a load of rain in the area. We had water coming down the chimney! Restoration people said to turn up the heat in the house to dry out the plaster walls. Chance encounter with someone who gave advice to the architects of the Capitol (yes, THE Capitol) said what I needed was a dehumidifier. I bought one for the basement and one for the main floor. They worked like trojans and I was able to dry the house out with them. Will run them during the summer on a regular basis in the future. I especially like how easy they were to dump. Never had to worry about drops of water on the wood floors.
Works Very Well!

We purchased this unit just get reduce the humidity in the house as rainy season came in and it worked very well. Kinda noisy for someone who described it as whisper quiet.

So happy we purchased this, our basement now feels much better
Neat, compact, and efficient
from NH, United States
I have had this for several months and found it to be much quieter and more efficient than the dehumidifier it replaced. It fits neatly in my bathroom and helps to keep the room dry and mold free. If I could suggest one minor improvement, it would be to make the bucket pour more cleanly as the clear plastic cover can make it a bit splashy. This is a minor defect and all in all I would highly recommend.
Perfect for my basement!

I have had this for several months now. It keeps my normally very damp and musty unfinished MN basement at a much more reasonable humidity. I love the hose that empties directly into our drain.
Very quiet with great features.

I love that it has a handle on top of the unit and another on the bucket. Very useful when emptying the bucket. Easy to use and is relatively quiet in comparison to other units we have owned. Easy to setup and operate.

It is small, compact and quiet. It is used in a live in basement and works very well.
