Our situation called for an electric downdraft range, and the KitchenAid range came through beautifully. It's beautiful, and we also love the functionality. It's loaded with features we've never had before. I might have to try some new dishes. The downdraft is amazing. It truly vents the smoke and odor and down and out. The amount of air it moves it amazing. Installation was easy and straight forward. Great product.Only negative I can mention is that there is a chemical smell when the oven is heating up. Maybe it's the "newness" breaking in; not sure yet.

I purchased this range shortly after it was introduced to the market in order to replace a Jen Air stove that had a faulty display (common). Less than four months after installation, this Kitchen Aid range also failed -- low fan speed (seems to be common on Whirlpool products? Error code F8E0 -- Google and beware!). For the price of this range, I expected better. So off to customer service to address the problem and to see how they stand by their product. Covered under warranty? Yes. Time before someone can come to repair THEIR faulty product? two and a half weeks. How does that sound for a "professional" line of products? First it fails, and then a less than stellar warranty service (We'll fix it eventually, and hopefully your warranty will expire before we have to do it again!). When you spend this kind of money on a range, you expect the company to do what they can to remedy a problem -- not with this product, and not with Kitchen Aid. My first and definitely last Kitchen Aid product. If you DO decide to purchase this range, be sure to get an extended warranty. It's the only thing that saved people from Jen Air's quality issues, and apparently the only thing that can help you with Kitchen Aid.If it does fail, then I'd recommend not believing the customer service department when they tell you 2-3 days for a repair. You'll get an informal e-mail later making it clear that you'll have at least half a month without having a functioning oven. This is my first and last Kitchen Aid product. For the expense -- I expected a better product and better support.

Selections for each size and method of cooking
from Pt. Angeles, WA
Comments about KitchenAid 30" Stainless Steel Electric Slide-In Range:
I bought this electric cooking stove one month ago and have enjoyed the results of each method of cooking and the ease of discovering how each function of oven and cooktop work. I especially enjoy the quick heat burners. The oven takes a little longer to preheat than I am used to but it cooks quickly and evenly once it is to temperature.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I am happy with my new range. It provided the downdraft vent that I had to have. I am having to adjust cooking temps and times when using the oven. No problems so far and don't expect any.

Bought this downdraft slide-in-range while having my kitchen renovated. So far I've enjoyed using it. Easy to clean the glass top. The heating areas are adjustable in size. The oven is large and well lit. The downdraft works well and is very quiet.
Great so far!

Happy with it so far-had it a month-no issues. Hook up was costly as had to get professionals in to properly hook up the downdraft. Down draft works well when cooking but fan isn't very powerful and I find when boiling anything in water the steam still escapes.
Front element still not fixed properly

I bought this 3 months ago and for the most part it's a great stove but the front right dual element was broken and the switch that was sent to fix it was for the left element. I'm still waiting for it to be fixed properly

We were limited to two different stoves on the market due to our downdraft fan situation, so I really didn't do a lot of shopping around for a range. It's sharp looking, but it's impossible to keep clean and the timer and bake functions are not particularly intuitive.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

KitchenAid Remains a Number One Choice in Appliances
from Bloomfield, CT
I had to purchase a downdraft range and the KitchenAid was available for immediate shipment. I have owned KitchenAid appliances, but never a range made by them. I love the energy saver feature and I can't wait to see the savings reflected on my electric bill.
Fantastic range in all regards
from Jackson, TN
I wanted a gas top range and my wife said absolutely not. This glass top range with convection oven is the best range that I have owned. I have tried all cooking options with great results and I truly love the downdraft which works very well, I no longer hit my head on the vent hood which was replaced with an additional light. I looked at the competition products and I am excited that I chose the KitchenAid over the competition. I would make this same decision if I had to purchase another range today.
Appreciating the downdraft feature
By Dr. Lori

I bought this range for the downdraft feature. My kitchen is in the middle of the house and the range cannot be vented using a hood. My family has many food allergies. The downdraft has allowed me to cook any food without provoking an allergic reaction in my family. Everything is vented through my floor and then outside, leaving my kitchen odor free and safe for my family.
