You don't even know that it is running and the dishes are super clean. Drying is OK with 95% of stuff coming out totally dry. Being European they did not adjust to the larger openings/space available in an American kitchen. Looks like they kept the same housing size as used in Europe. The biggest shock was loading it up for the first time with a big load, which the previous dishwasher would have been able to handle. I would estimate that this is 20% smaller in cubic area than standard US made dishwashers. The sales person did a great job explaining all the technical features and benefits, but seemed to leave out that the interior volume was substantially less than all the others.Overall we are happy with it and with some creative stacking we are making it work. Don't think a big family would be happy with it.The door handle is Huge!? I guess they were going for some industrial look. Keep banging into it.

I purchased this dishwasher because it had large capacity and I entertain quite often. I am very disappointed with the rack design and capacity. My family is constantly cursing as we struggle to fit glasses and Tupperware in the top rack. The glasses fall over and you can't fit two side by side. We have broken 7 glasses in the dishwasher in6 months. The bottom rack tines do not allow for bowls or any dish with a lip to be placed easily. Often the dishes won't be clean because they are blocked by each other. This means you can fit fewer dishes. I would say my previous dishwasher held at least 1/3 more dishes per load. Also, I often have water on top of the glasses. When I called to see if there was a remedy, they stated I should open the door slightly after the cycle which is extremely inconvenient as we usually put the dishwasher on before we go to bed. If you open the dishwasher during a cycle you only have 4 seconds to close it which is also a pain when you want to add a dish. On the positive side, it is very quiet.

I replaced my 21 year old Miele with a new Miele when we renovated our kitchen. It was a no-brainer for us. My previous machine had certainly passed the test of time and dependability with only 1 service call in the twenty plus years. I love my new Miele - in particular, the seamless frontage, the crystal cycle and the upper utensil rack which is easy to use and makes putting away cutlery a breeze.
Could not be happier

I purchased this dishwasher as part of a home reno. We used it in all sorts of modes as we were moving everything back in to home. It performed marvelously. We having been using it for 9 months now and have never had to rewash anything. everything comes out clean, dry and sparkling.

Good dishwasher but I was led to believe it was better.
good dishwasher- but doesn't dry dishes

I love the cutlery rack and i love how quiet it runs. it also cleans the dishes very well - spotless. However, i am frustrated that it will not dry my dished very well regardless of setting or opening door or cleaning product.

Best we've owned!
from Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, Canada
Bought this dishwasher as a part of a total kitchen renovation to integrate into the custom cabinetry. The install tolerance were excellent & fit perfectly. The kick plate provided was not compatible, however, the brackets allowed for the substitution of a piece of cabinet kick which tied the entire unit into the bank of cabinets. Insofar as cleaning performance... the unit far surpasses any other dishwasher owned in the past (including Bosch, KitchenAid, Maytag, GE, etc.)... And it's very quiet too!
Very good dishwasher
I've had this unit for about six months, and so far, I'm quite pleased with it. Pros: Excellent capacity, with the 3d cutlery tray you have so much space! The flip down racks on the upper basket give you a ton of capacity for small bowls and glasses. The non-return valve pops out easily to allow you to clean out any garbage that is getting into the pump. Check that your dishes fit, but if you have a reasonable sized dish without too much depth (I bought a large set of dishes aimed towards caterers) you can just pack the machine with them. Adjustable height of upper rack, and the ability to slide the 3d cutlery tray around allows you to put pretty tall beer glasses in upper rack. When I bought this machine, I went with the philosophy, "don't spend money on wash cycles you won't use." This model has just what you need....regular, pots/pans, express, rinse/hold, sanitize, and a china/crystal. The only one I don't use is the china/crystal setting. The "Express" wash mode is great (use liquid detergent); it will wash and mostly dry a lightly soiled load in about a half hour...great for entertaining. Because this unit does not use a heater to dry, you can put plastic items on the bottom rack without worrying about damaging them. Customer service at Miele does everything they can to help...they are fantastic. Cons: Large pans such as cookie sheets and muffin tins just don't seem to have a good location to fit. Fitting a large number of bowls in can be tricky, but I haven't seen any dishwasher that can really pack bowls in. Tall champagne flutes fit in the drop down tines on lower rack, but are a little unstable there. The interface for programming the water softener and rinse aid dispenser is not user friendly, but you don't have to do this often, so it doesn't really affect my rating. Plastic items can come out damp or wet, it is a fine balancing act setting the rinse aid to have enough that plastic dries, but not so much that it comes out feeling coated in rinse agent. Areas for improvement: I added some clips to my top rack to help keep small items from flying around, it would be nice for Miele to include these as standard. I also added a bottle holder by replacing/adding some components (from Miele) on my bottom rack. If you only need to put a bottle/vase in once in a while, you can probably find a spot along the backside of the bottom rack, but if you want to wash bottles/carafes on a regular basis, you may want to consider a model of Miele that has a folding bottle holder built in...the bottles will be in a better location for the water jets. If you are installing this unit yourself, the installation instructions included in the Canadian version of this unit are not great...pictographs without detailed parts lists and the like. I searched online and found the US installation manual which explained what some of the mystery pieces were that I couldn't figure out. Potential concerns: "Dishwasher" water softener salt can be tough to find...pick up a couple of boxes when you go buy the unit. I filled up my water softener when I got it, and after six months, the refill indicator for the softener still hasn't come on. I've spoke with Miele and we are monitoring the situation for a few more months before bringing in a service tech...hopefully no issues. All in all, a very good unit.
Finally clean dishes

I love it! I struggled with our old one, dishes always came out dirty. The Miele is amazing. The only thing is the plastic isn't dry, but much better then cleaning dishes over again! I love the cutlery being on top!

I have had this dishwasher now for 3 months and is very reliable and operates quietly. I recommend this dishwasher if you are in the market for one.
