This is my second GE dishwasher. I decided to stick with the same brand I had before which lasted over 12+ years. So here is what I noticed with this new model. Works great. Gets my dishes clean on both top and bottom racks. It's fairly quiet. It takes a while from start to finish with the heat cycle on. The heat cycle doesn't leave your dishes and plastics dry and will require the door propped open. That part isn't any different from my previous model. I would say the only slight drawback is this dishwasher seems lower to the ground than my previous one so you have to bend over more for that bottom rack. But my mugs and glasses fit well on the top rack and while the racks may look small at the store they really do provide enough room. For the price, it's pretty good and was affordable and that's one of the main points for me. I hope it lasts as long as my previous one.

I purchased this dishwasher less than a year ago. I was excited to get it home and use it. Now I wish I would have purchased a different model. * The sales guy told me the racks would not rust because they were of high quality. Less than a year and they are already rusted. * Seems like every time the dishes are done, I take a look and dishes and they have detergent still on them and there is some still in detergent dispenser. * It does not have a hard food processor. * Does not clean well. * You would save money doing dishes by hand. The jets are low quality (top and bottom) The wash cycles take a very long time, raising your electric bill. Having to use the dishwasher twice for one load doubles water and electricity. * Upper and lower racks a hassle to change height. * silverware rack is in the worse location. * overall this is a poor design and waste of my money.

Comments about GE 24" Black Built-In Dishwasher:
We've had our dishwasher about 2 months and it works great. At 52 decibels it is much quieter than our last one at 55 decibels. I have found some spoons and forks that did not clean completely but usually things are clean. I don't like the silverware being attached to the front of the rack; the door closes against it and it seems like it takes longer to dry that way. Even after overnight the silverware container itself was still wet. Otherwise it seems to be working fine.

This dishwasher takes 3 hours to wash the dishes. It is supposed to be energy efficient yet uses tons of electricity. It does not clean the dishes very well. It does not dry the dishes very well. You have to use those expensive detergent packages on it...liquid soap does not work. You have to be careful how you load the dishwasher - for instance you can't put knives or anything tall in the utensil carrier because it will block the soap dispenser...

It took a couple of days to become familiar with the new GE Dishwasher. I am very pleased with its performance.

Multiple attempts to fix a loud vibration in the drain pump have failed. The poorly designed front silverware basket, even carefully loaded, sometimes prevents the soap dispenses from opening, resulting in dirty dishes with food baked on by the heated drying. This is an awful dishwasher.

Cleans well but takes over 2.5 hours to run a cycle. Disappointments include: no rinse & hold feature; can't tell where in cycle; cycle length seems excessive. Would recommend with reservations
