I am so disappointed! After spending 9 years dreaming of having a KitchenAid stand mixer, I finally received one for Christmas and was so excited!!! However, after one use, the finish washed away from my flat beater, leaving gray streaks. When I went to chat support, I was given a link to replace my beater. I inquired about the coated beater, which might add a little more durability, but was told there wasn't an option for this listed under my model's parts list. I'm so disappointed! This is too expensive and nice of a machine to not have durable parts! I don't understand- I have friends and family members who have had their KitchenAid for 25+ years...what happened?
Stainless Steel Is Needed
from Sammamish, WA
I rate this product 0. I love my stand mixer but it is seriously time for KitchenAid to see that people are not happy with the oxidation and paint chipping situation with their beaters. What will it take to get you to offer a stainless steel option?
Burnished finish oxidizes
from Metairie, LA
I like the functionality of the KitchenAid mixer, but sadly, I have to replace the beater. Used and washed fewer than five times, the beater oxidizes and leaves a residue that will combine the food. This was a disappointment, and I have go e back to my 25 year old hand mixer from GE with shiny unoxidized beaters.
Not dishwasher friendly
from FPO, AP
After less than five washes, the metal tarnishes and leaches grey substance onto anything it touches. Beater is ruined with no viable alternatives. Unfortunate with how much we have invested in the stand mixer.

BAd finish- leaves gray residue and metal teste
By Love to bake
from Perkville, MO
When I bought my kitchen aid stand mixer I was so happy, it took me a few tried to figure out what was the metal taste left, after every wash there is always gray residue on my towels and paper towels. DO NOT BUY! I don't understand how a really pricey counter appliance can have these cheap attachments.

Do not dishwash or over wash this product. Will turn black and tarnish. Terrible quality. Not sure what to buy to replace because the other options chip. So sad!

Burnished beater a dud!
By Diane the knitter

I just bought the 7 quart mixer and couldnt wait to use, but the dough was discolored and so was my wash cloth. Very disappointed with this I cant believe you would put inferior parts with this great mixer. You will need to buy a replacement beater if you buy this mixer.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY
from Birmingham, AL
This came with my kitchenaid, and as all of the other reviews said after one single wash by hand grey stuff began to cover my entire hands and the paper towels I was drying it with. It is extremely frustrating and when I spoke to kitchenaid customer service their solution was to "replace the accessory" which was 100% unhelpful and useless. There should not be a product that has this issue to so many people yet you cannot offer any sort of solution. Save your time and money & do not buy this product and if you receive it with your kitchenaid mixer try to switch it to a ceramic one immediately.

Bad finish makes paddle unusable!
After the finish wore off of my original paddle attachment I came to this website to try and find a replacement, only to find that the same problem keeps occurring with this product. After washing, the finish wears off, leaving the surface of the paddle dull and oxidized, which leaves gray, streaky residue in your dough. Therefore the paddle is no longer useable. Since it seems Kitchen Aide hasn't fixed this problem with the burnished finish and the reviews of the coated paddle attachments complain of the coating chipping off, what options exist for a replacement paddle attachment?
