Comments about Logitech Harmony Elite Remote Control:
Can be a challenge to add to your home network, if you don't have patience. If you have an extender in your home, use your main network, not the extender. It's nice to have one remote vs 7 or more remotes.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Best remote I've ever owned
from Nashville, TN
We bought this remote to replace the TV, receiver, DVR, and Roku remotes in our living room. The Harmony Elite works as-advertised. After plugging in the Hub and setting up the IR blasters, the setup app auto-detected most of our devices on our home network. The only thing I had to manually add was the TV itself, which was simple enough, although we don't even really need to use the TV apps since we have the DVR and Roku. It literally took maybe 5-10 minutes before everything was tested and working seamlessly. And since setting up the Harmony, I haven't touched the other device remotes, which is a testament to how well the Harmony works. There are a few drawbacks/annoyances. First, the touch screen works great but because it is both motion and touch-sensitive, it is impossible to clean without turning something on or activating a digital button. And because the screen seems to attract fingerprints, you'll want to wipe it off now and then. It would be nice if there was a way to disable the touch screen for 30 seconds or so, while you clean it.Secondly, the setup tool has the ability to switch to a Roku and auto-launch a particular app. However, I can only seem to find the option to include 1 of these auto-launches on the Harmony. So, for example, if you set up the Harmony to switch to Roku and auto-launch Netflix, that's the only option it will allow you to have pre-programmed. You can't then also set up another button to auto-launch Amazon, or Hulu, etc. So, we get around that by just having a generic switch to Roku option, and then we manually launch the desired Roku app. It's a minor annoyance, but it seems silly given that the functionality is clearly there. That said, this is the best remote I've ever owned. It is prohibitively expensive for the average family to have 1 in every room with devices, but well worth the investment for your main viewing area.
