We had Abt permanently install 2 of these. We have a typical Chicago brick two flat and had these installed in each apartment's dining room window. It cools the dining rm and kitchen well and keeps the living rm comfy (although slightly warmer) also. Very surprised at the performance and happy with our decision. This review is based on an outside air temp of 92* and a comfy 75* in living rm with colder temps in the kitchen and dining rm!

The last window unit I purchased was 8 years ago, from abt, and it was also a Frigidaire. That last Frigidaire came ready to install into my window. This new unit requires some work before you can install it. You must attach the rail that holds the plastic curtains. On my old AC this rail and curtains were already attached. On my old AC the rail was attached on top of the AC unit so even if it wasnt already attached it would be easy to attach them. This new unit though, according to the instruction manual, requires you to open the AC unit you just bought. I dont know about you, but I dont want to spend 400 dollars or more just so that I can take apart the appliance I just purchased. So I HATED the installation process. I know I did it wrong, I just took larger screws and forced them into the holes from the outside of the AC, because I didnt want to take my new purchase apart as the instructions dictate you to do. I would say this is a good AC but if you buy it definitely pay for the installation service that ABT offers.

Comments about Frigidaire 15,100 BTU 11.8 EER 115V Window Air Conditioner:
While the first unit only lasted less then 90 days before developing a refrigerant leak, the replacement unit is performing perfectly.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this about 3 months ago, installation was a little difficult, but when done, easy to see. Solid machine with Solid Performance

Unit cools well and functions as advertised. The only complaints I have are, this unit requires a lot more assembly then I expected (4hours) directions weren't very clear either. Overall I'm satisfied with this unit.

Nice looking unit. Good feature set. Average noise level for a unit this size. The owners manual is very good, but the installation instructions were not. Figuring out which screw or bolt to use where was next to impossible. The supports were unusable in my application.(I had to use the existing adjustable support arms from the unit I was replacing, which were a far better design anyway). The fact that a unit this size uses a 110v outlet was a big plus. The remote was more handy than I thought it would be. The true measure for me is longevity. Time will tell.
