This Memorial day weekend I cut my fingertip along with the zucchinni, so the last thing I wanted to do was shop for new washer and dryer! But when old washer decided to suddenly flood, we bought the Electrolux set of front loading appliances with the drawer bases. At first we (senior citizens) thought we may not need top of the line, but after a few months of use, I can say we are extraordinarily happy with our choice, and make the laundry room a part of the tour of this Sun City (Mesquite, NV) home we had purchased only a month earlier. We like the quiet operation. Front loaders are easier on our aging backs, so are easier to use. I found the touch controls easy to understand and use. The appliances look nice in place. I found the steam function in the dryer a nice way to refresh most wrinkles out of dry clothes from closet, without rewashing or ironing them sometimes. (I have not used this feature too much yet, but seems to work better on some fabrics than on others?) My husband & I both feel that the quickest 15 minute wash does clean the clothes well, but that without adding another rinse to that, you still can see soap suds..I know we have cut to minimum on the HD detergent, so we are not adding too much soap. So most loads take about 50 minutes to wash with the added rinse. So the quick wash is not much of a plus to us...but this seems a very small criticism. Maybe others would chose to save the extra water & time, and don't mind a bit of soap left in? I like how easy it is to pause a load and restart - Just very happy in general. Buyers have to be happy with a high end price point, esp. if you add the pieces the washer and dryer sit on. But the bases are designed to be useful drawers a good added function we do use.

It cleans okay, but there are some problems with it. I cannot dry rubber backed rugs and very heavy items because they catch in the space between the wall of the dryer drum and the door wall. The rugs bunch up and ultimately shut off the dryer. Anything very heavy causes the same problem. I bought this large washer and dryer so I could wash rugs, quilts, and large items. The print on the front of the machines is so light that it is impossible to read in normal light in our laundry room. The print on the vats for the detergent and other washing aids is impossible to read on each separate compartment. The "fast dry" selection only has "hot" as a heat selection. I don't want to risk drying delicates quickly if "hot" is the only option. The washer shakes everything in the laundry and the dining room when it is on spin. It has been leveled and it still causes terrible vibrations when spinning so I can not use high. I can only select the "Medium" option. It shakes every dish in the cabinet in the next room. The center of gravity is too high since it is placed on the "drawer". The worst problem is that since our home uses a water softner, there is still soap suds left in the washer and in the window at the end of a regular cycle so nearly every load has to put through a rinse and spin cycle after the regular cycle is over. I have decreased the detergent to below the "min" line and I'm still getting left over suds. After I finish using the machine, I wipe it dry and I have quite a time getting all the water out of the rubber-like collar. There are three holes in the bottom and there must be water in the machine because those holes are never completely dry after I try to dry it out. I bought this machine because my research said that it had won several awards. I wonder who tested this model washer before it was put on the market.

I love all the features on this machine. It gets my clothes clean and I get to watch it work. The only drawback I have found is that if you wash small loads they will not spin out properly.Wish it had a spin only feature!!
THE FEATURES ARE GREAT,I LOVE THE WAY THE DOOR IS

We bought this machine last month and I'm so thrilled we did. We went from a top loading machine with agitator to this ... what a huge difference. The machine uses so much less water, less soap, is so much quieter and will hopefully save us money due to its energy efficiency. I did a lot of research on various different machines before making this purchase and in all cases this machine was rated one of the top. Even my husband commented that he feels like the clothes are cleaner.

I bought this machine in November 2016. It was quite an adjustment at first from my old top loader, but now I love it.
Really happy with our choice

I searched for a couple of years for machines big enough to do our king sized comforters and our sleeping bags. These Electrolux 617 models do the job. Now I just need to figure out all the settings! We purchased the 617 because of the allergen cycle on the dryer, although I haven't used it yet. I have used the perfect steam to get the wrinkles out of a pair of dress pants, didn't have to pull the iron out. They look awesome in my newly painted laundry room.
I have been very pleased so far with this machine. It does an outstanding job with clothes and provides superb features.
