GOOD: I like all the refrigerator door bins. They make it possible for virtually all items to be easily accessible without setting food out in order to reach what's behind it. It's nice that the partitions in the full width fridge drawer is adjustable or even removable. The "front and center" controls and temperature display are perfectly located. BAD: I think the design of the freezer drawers wastes an incredible amount of space. Also, dedicating 20% - 25% of that diminished freezer space to the ice produced by the automatic ice maker is excessive. I have had to partition that bin myself to reduce the amount of ice to what only two people use, thus freeing up more space for frozen food. The switch to turn off the automatic ice maker is VERY inconveniently located all the way in the back of the freezer drawer on the ice maker. If you can "see" the switch, you can't reach it; if you have your arm extended all the way back to reach the switch, you can't get your head in there to see what you're doing! Poor design all around for the freezer.

The outside is beautiful. And the freezer works nice. My one issue was the design of the interior shelving. The way the shelves line up, you cannot get a britta or wine bottle with opened cork on the bottom shelf of the frig without moving the shelves. And then you are left with a shelf 2 inches high. In other words, a wasted shelf since not much will fit on it. And my veggie/fruit trays are much smaller than my old frig. This does affect the overall capacity.

Comments about GE Slate French Door Refrigerator:
A very nice fridge if you have limited space. My house is huge, but has narrow doorways. This is the best smaller fridge I could find and am very happy with it.

"It's bigger on the inside!"

Pretty sure there's some Time Lord magic with this bad boy. It's slim, but there's plenty of space in here (for a smaller refrigerator). If you're already used to this size fridge you'll be very happy as it will seem like you've gained space in your upgrade.

I bought this to replace a 16 year old side by side, same cubic foot. The difference in space and organizational features is great, not to mention the door alarm, filter inside, and the LED lighting!

I've had this two months now and really like the choice we made. It's quiet and everything inside both sections is well lit. The only drawbacks are really kind of minor. One is that with the bottom in-door shelves being fixed, the spacing of shelves is limited. I have one shelf that I can't fit in. (But that leaves a spare just in case!) The other issue is that the ice make sometimes continues to dump ice when the container is full, so we've had ice fall behind the freezer compartment into the bottom a couple of times. So I leave it turned off unless we've used most of the ice and need to refill.

Love the slate color, goes great with kitchen décor rather than the old white or black option.
We were in need of a new refrigerator

I researched for a new refrigerator and decided on purchasing a new GE - GNE21FSFSS. It has two doors above and a pull out freezer below. We have a small house so the 30 width of the refrigerator I needed limited somewhat my choices. I am very pleased with with my choice. I like the storage space, the way it looks in the kitchen, the space inside for food storage both in the freezer and behind the two upper doors. Another thing I like is how quite it is when operating. If you are considering a 30 inch refrigerator have a look at the GE product line.

Recently purchased,my wife and I are very happy with the way it looks as well as its many features. Shelves inside as well as on the door are solid. The units lighting is Awsome in both the freezer and refrigerator. What can I say, we love it.

I replaced my old GE fridge with this one, I wish I could have my old one back
Doors are a little awkward.
from Oregon, United States
The doors don't self close when you swing them shut. Thank goodness for the alarm that goes off if they are't shut! Also, the packing plastic is still in the cracks and I can't get it all out even with tweezers. Very unsightly! Other than that, I love my new refrigerator!
Love slate finish and features

Love slate finish and French doors only one issue with shelf heights. Not able to adjust all 3 to allow for a tall picture or milk jug Not evenly adjustable will have to remove one of the 3 to accommodate taller items
