We've had the Samsung induction Chef collection range for several months and are more delighted as time goes on. The stovetop cooking is amazingly precise, the heating effect is perfectly distributed through the bottom of a pot, so the cooking is far easier to control (heat up and down is immediate, like a gas range) and it is difficult to scorch food. The fact that the element surface doesn't get hot (other than what the pot transfers to it) allows for cleanup of spills on the element even while cooking . The duo oven is great. If you keep the divider in and just use the top oven it reduces warm-up time and general electrical use considerably. The oven(s) also have heating coils in the fans so that that the fans don't cause cooling. The baking is wonderfully even -- far better than we've had with previous ovens. Before we got the range we were worried about the noise the induction generator and the pots might make. The generator makes a low hum that we really don't even notice. We purchased several thin cast iron pots (enamel coated) that cook wonderfully and are soundless. But we also discovered that the free pots that Samsung included with the purchase work just fine. They vibrate a bit on power boost (when the magnetic field is strongest) but that is usually used only for boiling water, and the water boils so fast (literally about a cup in 30 sec) that its hardly on that setting for any time. It took some doing to convince my wife to go this direction. We both cook, but she wasn't sure about the technology. We're both really glad we did. The initial cost was somewhat high but we'll have this stove hopefully for decades--and decades of great cooking are really worth it. It makes meals from scratch a lot more fun! We also love the safety factor. The controls. are large, easy to read, right on the front (so you don't have to reach over hot pots to get at them) . The electronic readout is clear and straightforward. The stove has a locking function that prevents children from turning the oven on, and the stove body fastens to the floor in the back to keep the stove from tipping if someone sits on the open oven door. All in all, a marvel of quality engineering. I couldn't be happier with it.

Absolutely the worst design of any stove I have ever had, making the stove difficult to use. 1. Accidentally touching the burner control knobs while reaching for a pot on a back burner will turn it on causing a burner to get hot without realizing it. 2. The dual large/small burner control knob start at HI and go to LOW in both directions, requiring one to pass back through the HI setting to turn the burner off when cooking in LOW. 3. One must always lock the control panel to avoid accidentally changing a setting or shutting off the oven entirely while baking when reaching for something on a back burner. 4. The contents of the drawer located beneath the oven get very hot when baking, making the drawer useless.

Love the oven, concerned about stove

Comments about Samsung Black Stainless Steel Slide-In Electric Range:
I love the look of this Samsung range. It has large stainless knobs for the stove top, which give more of a high-end look. The oven works great. The burners are very hot, I don't foresee myself using the highest setting for anything beyond boiling water (and even then it's a bit overkill). My only concern is how the heat extends beyond the burner circles on the front right burner (the largest of all the burners). I haven't noticed this on any of the other burners, yet. I have read other reviews with similar concerns. I'm not sure if this is the case with all models or just a select few. I'm planning to contact the company about this.

Love the convection cooking!
I bought this model in 2014. I love the convection cooking feature and have had no trouble with it at all. It bakes evenly and roasts beautifully! However, the burners on the stove top are tough to keep clean and the pictures above the burner knobs have all worn off. It is not a big deal to remember which knob is which, but it makes the stove look cheap. Also, the beeping of the stove when it comes up to temperature or any other notification, is barely audible.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Lots of cooking options!!

I love most things about our new stove. when using the timer for the first time I found the noise it makes when done is completely useless. I have to be standing right next to the stove to hear it. I called support and was told it is not possible to adjust the volume on the timer to an audible level, the options are only to turn it on or off. The other more important features of this stove work perfectly and I am otherwise extremely happy with this purchase.

This range has an unreliable oven thermostat.

I love the cooktop on this range but have had a lot of difficulty with the oven getting to the right temperature and then holding it. The range has an option to adjust the temperature up to 35 degrees, but I need 50 degrees. So I manually play with the screen temperature and use an external oven thermostat to guide me. As a baker, I'm very unhappy.
Beauty and function

I have been wanting an induction range for a long time. This with the convection and or conventional baking functions, really great. The power boost element capacity is ingenious. Faster than a microwave. Cleans easily. The "virtual flame" is a great talking point with guests. It's also a safety feature from my standpoint, since I can clearly see if the element is funcioning properly and if it is "on".. So far, very happy. Samsung seems to have put all the bells and whistles in this model.

So far I like the range and the stove. They both have a learning curve on them we are still working on. The touch screen turns on to easily and does so even during clean up. I do love the stove top, but don't love the arrangement of the burners. They run fairly hot and often times medium is a little too hot. Water heats up in a flash though on high. It does shorten the time span for dinner. Oven preheats quick too (at least a lock quicker than our old oven).
