We've had the Samsung induction Chef collection range for several months and are more delighted as time goes on. The stovetop cooking is amazingly precise, the heating effect is perfectly distributed through the bottom of a pot, so the cooking is far easier to control (heat up and down is immediate, like a gas range) and it is difficult to scorch food. The fact that the element surface doesn't get hot (other than what the pot transfers to it) allows for cleanup of spills on the element even while cooking . The duo oven is great. If you keep the divider in and just use the top oven it reduces warm-up time and general electrical use considerably. The oven(s) also have heating coils in the fans so that that the fans don't cause cooling. The baking is wonderfully even -- far better than we've had with previous ovens. Before we got the range we were worried about the noise the induction generator and the pots might make. The generator makes a low hum that we really don't even notice. We purchased several thin cast iron pots (enamel coated) that cook wonderfully and are soundless. But we also discovered that the free pots that Samsung included with the purchase work just fine. They vibrate a bit on power boost (when the magnetic field is strongest) but that is usually used only for boiling water, and the water boils so fast (literally about a cup in 30 sec) that its hardly on that setting for any time. It took some doing to convince my wife to go this direction. We both cook, but she wasn't sure about the technology. We're both really glad we did. The initial cost was somewhat high but we'll have this stove hopefully for decades--and decades of great cooking are really worth it. It makes meals from scratch a lot more fun! We also love the safety factor. The controls. are large, easy to read, right on the front (so you don't have to reach over hot pots to get at them) . The electronic readout is clear and straightforward. The stove has a locking function that prevents children from turning the oven on, and the stove body fastens to the floor in the back to keep the stove from tipping if someone sits on the open oven door. All in all, a marvel of quality engineering. I couldn't be happier with it.

The design is similiar to every other stove. Large burners in the front small at the rear. Not very user friendly for reaching over hot pots in front. Fast boil burner only is fast on the large pot setting. Largest burner is too big for most pots and pan bottoms. The temperature is difficult to control. When turned down it does not respond quickly, it takes long to go down so you have to move the pan to prevent burning. Glass top is hard to make streak free even with stove top cleaner which I use regularly. Oven light next to oven off button bad placement. Merely brush the controls on the front and they light up. No off button to turn off. Convection oven does not cook as fast as advertised, in fact it takes longer than regular bake. I have yet to have a successful cake in the time recommended by recipe. My previous stove was perfect every time. If you like to cook and bake don't get this stove.

Innovative, but could be better executed

Comments about Samsung Black Stainless Steel Slide-In Electric Range:
This is the only unit on the market I could find with induction top and convertible-split oven. Love that part! But paid plenty extra for that feature. Problem is, can not do standard bake in smaller upper oven, only convection, which is not right for biscuits, pizza or many other the dishes. For standard bake, you have to use the bigger, lower oven. The basket-shaped lowest rack in oven has a support bar in the way of sliding dishes in and out and limits the useable depth.; practically unusable. Rack position in upper oven places broiler pan items either 1/2" or 5" from burner; not best broiling. Easy glide rack can only be placed in certain slots and interferes with placing other rack. Not enough standard racks included. And I've only been using it for a few days....

Outstanding performance with sleek slide-in design
from Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA
The stove top and oven look like more expensive professional models. The range and oven perform quickly and uniformly. It is my first experience with a convection oven and I find that it's balanced heating make it an easy transition. I also like that the door is closed during the broil function. My only concern is that the touch display engages very easily. I expected that it would activate when the "wake up" position was touched, but the screen lights easily when any part is touched - as in wiping the oven front or glass screen. While the screen does light none of the oven functions have activated unintentionally which I expect is part of Samsung's thoughtful design.

Love this stove, having a bit of trouble finding a pan for the big burner.
Very Good Range

Cooking is a cinch with this slide in electric range. Cleaning is also a piece of cake. I just wish the bottom drawer was a warming tray.

Wow! This range is awesome. Easy to clean and works better than a gas cooktop. Duo oven is ingenious
My wife and I really like our new range. The precision of cooking on the induction top is second to none. Fast to heat up and easy to clean. The dual oven feature with the divider is awesome, cookies and pizza at the same time. Much quicker to preheat this oven compared to our old electric oven. The touch screen controls are thoughtful and quick, the big knobs for the induction burners are a nice touch. Style, performance and function are on par with this range.

This is a good looking electric Range. Only used it a couple of times. It so far works great. Never had a rrange with so many different items on it. If it works likes it looks it is a winner.
Love everything about this range!

Sleek looking. Fast heating. Designer look. Only thing missing is a simmer setting for the cooktop burners.
