Micro Sized Components, Elegant Style
Yamaha releases its third generation of systems in the PianoCraft Series, which won the EISA Best Compact System Award for 2000-2001. These prestigious awards are chosen by media representatives from 19 European countries. The MCR-E500 offers further refined design and sound quality, with more variations.
Micro Components Provide Big Sound
The MCR-E500 consists of a separate Receiver and 3-disc CD Changer with PlayXchange, and a 2-Way Bass Reflex Speaker System. Main features include high sound quality, CD-R/CD-RW playback, CD Text display, AM/FM 40-station preset tuning and versatile timer functions. The MCR-E500 has an optional available matching Auto-Reverse Cassette Deck, plus the capability to add a subwoofer.
High Dynamic Power, Low-Impedance Drive Capability
The MCR-E500 delivers 40W x 2 of pure power. The amplifier is capable of delivering large amounts of reserve power for accurate reproduction of the high energy signals that are especially prevalent in digital audio sources. This emphasizes the music's dynamic qualities and provides a sharper sound image.
Linear Damping
Level variations due to high impedance tend to reduce an amplifier's damping factor, and frequency variations cause it to fluctuate. This circuit cancels the effect of these variations, maintaining a high, stable damping factor, for superior articulation of all sounds and better frequency response.
40-Station Am/Fm Random Access Preset Tuning
In addition to utilizing a Direct PLL IF Count Synthesizer Tuning system, the receiver section also makes station selection easy. Users can preset as many as 40 stations for instant one-touch tuning, and with each one the tuning mode (auto or mono) is also memorized. Auto FM Station Memory will automatically preset the 40 strongest stations on the dial. The Preset Editing function can then be used to rearrange them into groups.
CDC-E500 CD Changer
In addition to a 3-Disc with PlayXchange, the system is CD-R/CD-RW playback compatible with random programming and repeat play. The changer also has an Optical Digital Out.
2-Way Bass-Reflex Speaker System
The MCR-E500 system has a 13cm (5-1/8") woofer, with a 2.5cm (1") dome tweeters and can handle 110W of max power. A subwoofer can also be added, thanks to the Subwoofer Output terminal on the receiver.
PlayXchange
The MCR-E500 gives you the benefits of extended playing time and direct selection from all discs. And with PlayXchange, you can change discs while the current one continues to play. You don't have to interrupt the movie or music to change a disc and you're not limited to changing only one disc at a time.
CD-R And CD-RW Disc Playback
More people are using their computers or digital recorders to make their own CD-R and CD-RW disc. Yamaha's Micro Component Systems are capable of playing these types of discs.
CD Text Display
Get information about the CD currently playing right on the CD player's display. The 3-mode text display shows the CD's title, the artist's name and the title of the track.
NX-E400 Two-Way Speaker System
Yamaha is known for its high quality compact speakers, and these models live up to that reputation. A pair of NX-E400 two-way speakers completes the elegant system. Each speaker incorporates a 5-1/8-inch cone woofer and 1-inch dome tweeter with 6-ohm impedance. The system has Banana-Plug compatible speaker terminals.
