Deep Fryers at Abt
If you love the salty crunch of fried food, a deep fryer is the perfect small kitchen appliance to make your favorite snacks. The most common model is the electric deep fryer, as they're compact and affordable. If you're looking for a more traditional frying experience, propane deep fryers are ideal. The fast-heating oil makes for a crispier bite, but for safety, must be used outside only. Lockable lid fryers solve this problem by eliminating the chance of oil splashing out and burning the user. They are also built with a basket that you can lower or raise without opening the lid. If you're looking to fry food while creating less waste, a rotary fryer is the best option as it uses half the oil. Rather than fully submerging food, the basket, instead, rotates through the hot oil. Since the fryer has less oil to heat, the temperature rises faster than in other models.
The deep fryers at Abt have a power between 1500 and 1800 watts: the more watts, the faster the heating process. The thermostat will show you when the oil is ready for cooking; some are even digitally controlled. Only certain parts of deep fryers are dishwasher-safe, but when it's time to clean, most deep fryers have an outlet for draining used oil. If you're an economical cook who wishes to reuse oil, your appliance will notify you if it needs changing to maintain good flavor. When choosing your ideal deep fryer, consider what you'd like to cook and what capacity is needed for those foods. Also, research on deep fryer safety is suggested, as skin burns and house fires can happen when your fryer is improperly used.
Air Fryers at Abt
Air fryers utilize the same convection technology found in an oven in order to fry food without oil. When you power it on, a fan circulates heat all around while also pushing excess moisture out of your food, leaving it cooked and crispy. By not submerging your food in oil, you, in turn, get a healthier snack with a similar texture and flavor. Air fryers can cook a variety of foods whether it's chicken, veggies, fish or pastries. They're especially skilled at reheating frozen food, as they don't leave it soggy as a microwave does. Unfortunately, they are not as versatile as deep fryers as they cannot fry foods like wet batters, bacon and more. After every use, it's suggested you clean the frying basket, pan, tray and interior with dish soap and warm water. For deeper cleaning, wipe any buildup off the exterior and heating coil to keep your air fryer running smoothly.
The general rule for air fryers is one quart of capacity for every person you plan to feed. Most models at Abt have about 1 foot of oven capacity and can handle 3 pounds of food. If you want to cook multiple foods at once, consider air fryers with multiple baskets, but overfilling your appliance will slow it down and leave food undercooked. The air fryers at Abt have the power of 120 V or 1700-1800 watts and typically, the higher the voltage, the higher capacity for temperature, so our models all have the ability to reach 400-500 degrees Fahrenheit. While air fryers have built-in timers, most also have presets for different types of food which eliminates the guesswork.
