G-Shock MR-G MRG-B2100 Series Watch 44.4mm in Black - MRGB2100B-1A

G-Shock MRGB2100B-1A MR-G MRG-B2100 Series Watch 44.4mm in Black
Artisan Black Titanium Watch – Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B2100B-1A
The first watch in the popular 2100 line to be included in the flagship Casio G-SHOCK MR-G family, the titanium MRG-B2100B-1A watch takes inspiration from kigumi—the ancient Japanese art of interconnected wooden construction without the use of nails—by utilizing this design inspiration for more than just style. True to the ancient art, form meets function: Casio designed this titanium watch with 27 separate components in the bezel alone, inserting buffering materials between the components as part of the tough Multi-Guard Structure. The hour indices are formed by two watch face components, adding further sophistication to honor the ancient Japanese art.
Precision excellence in design, beauty, and materials, the G-SHOCK MRG-B2100B-1A titanium watch is a study in watch making. Elegance and sophistication are the hallmarks of the mirror-finish black sheen and the kigumi-inspired latticework design of the face and construction of the bezel and indices. That elegance and sophistication are complemented by legendary G-SHOCK toughness with the boost of titanium metals, including the titanium alloy Ti64, an alloy used in the aerospace industry and for biomedical applications.
Precision, toughness, and beauty are the guiding design factors for the G-SHOCK MR-G family of flagship watches, and the attention to detail behind the design and construction of the MRG-B2100B-1A titanium watch ups the ante for the MR-G line. The top of the bezel is made of Cobarion®, a titanium alloy four times harder than pure titanium that also offers a white gleam like that of platinum. The watch band is fashioned from DAT55G, a super-hard titanium alloy that offers excellent processability, ensuring a comfortable fit.
Scratch resistance is a core component of Casio’s titanium watches. Diamond-like carbon coating enshrouds the titanium, and the sapphire crystal glass ensures the MRG-B2100B-1A titanium watch is scratch resistant to the highest levels of modern technology and design. The coatings are hand finished by master artisans, giving an artful and precise completion to a titanium watch inspired by an ancient Japanese art of craftsmanship and beauty.
The design and style may be influenced by an ancient artform, but the technology is wholly modern. The G-SHOCK MRG-B2100B-1A titanium watch is calibrated daily by a radio signal or through Bluetooth® connectivity, ensuring accurate timekeeping. Add in Tough Solar power charging and both magnetic resistance and 200m water resistance (wr 20 bar), and this titanium G-SHOCK watch is as reliable as a sunrise.
Features
- Multi-component structure enabling most sophisticated polish ever
The bezel is formed from a total of 27 separate components instead of a single piece. Each part is polished prior to assembly to give the watch a distortion-free finish, right down to the most challenging spots, like recessed portions. The band, too, has dimpled portions constructed with separate componentry. The artisanal craftwork shines through each and every component — just look at the stunning, distortion-free mirror finishes created with Sallaz polishing. - Multi-Guard Structure with the toughness to support an intricate form
Buffering is inserted between the parts of the multi-component bezel and case, providing excellent shock-absorption to help absorb impacts to the module. - Super-hard alloys developed in Japan, combining strength with beauty
The top bezel is made with COBARION, an alloy boasting a hardness about four times that of pure titanium and a brilliant gleam comparable to platinum. The band links employ DAT55G, a titanium alloy with a hardness about three times that of pure titanium that offers excellent processability. With these super-hard alloys developed in Japan, Casio achieved an exterior design that ensures both strength and beauty. A special Ti64 titanium alloy is used for the case, case back and buttons. - Dial design inspired by kigumi concept from Japanese aesthetics
The dial design incorporates special decorative aspects inspired by traditional Japanese kigumi wooden joinery techniques. The base surface is given a corrugated form with an intricate series of openings to create a geometric pattern beautifully expressing a latticework worldview. The elaborate series of openings in the face let enough light through for solar power generation, allowing the dial to be given a profound metallic black finish. In addition, the index mark at 12 o’clock features an intricately assembled two-part structure. This kind of craftwork, which demands the very highest precision, is only possible thanks to the fine processing technologies of Yamagata Casio.
Kigumi
Kigumi is a traditional Japanese construction method and woodworking technique used for wooden joinery without the use of nails or other metal fittings. It has been employed since the Heian period (794–1185) to build wooden structures, including shrines and temples, as well as wooden fixtures. With the stunning degree of precision the technique uses to create forms with both structural strength and artistic design sensibility, kigumi is considered an artisanal form of craftwork. Such wooden framework techniques producing intricate geometric patterns can be observed in traditional handicrafts, as well. - Slim case with a shock-resistant crown
A slimmed down form of the original MR-G Clad Guard Structure allows the incorporation of componentry to guard the crown. This makes it possible to maintain the streamlined profile of the 2100 line while also giving the crown shock resistance. A special construction keeps the MR-G logo, engraved on the crown, horizontally aligned when the crown is screw-locked. - Solar-powered timekeeping with Bluetooth® and radio control for enhanced accuracy and reliability
- Super Illuminator (high-brightness LED light) for maintaining watch readability in the dark
- Scratch-resistant, highly transparent sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating
