If you wish to get even more specific, these appliances also allow you to choose the exact temperature and time you'd like your food to cook. They don't even need to preheat, as they use infrared elements to instantly heat your oven and cook your food thoroughly and evenly. Some models can double as an air fryer, using convection to crisp any food you'd like, whether it's chicken tenders or veggies. Toaster ovens often come with an automatic shut-off feature that stops the heat once the programmed cooking cycle is complete, preventing your food from burning or a fire from starting. While you can easily reheat food with a microwave, this appliance can do the same without leaving your food soggy and giving it crunch instead. If you wish to keep a close eye on your food, most toaster ovens have interior lights as well.
