CHICAGO (WBBM) -- It seems people still love their gadgets and are putting electronics on their Christmas lists but consumers aren't spending as much as last year.
"We have the same amount of customers, they're just not buying the big ticket items." said Mike Abt, President of Glenview-based Abt Electronics.
Abt says iPod shuffles are hot, upgrades to personal computers even green products are hot this year.
"We're selling a little solio adapter that will charge an iPod or a phone for 80 dollars. It will use the sun to charge your devices." added Abt.
Abt says this year, people are buying lower priced products. Televisions are always popular but Abt says every year you can find better deals.
"A TV that might have cost 15-hundred dollars, a 50 inch now costs a thousand dollars so that helps." says Abt.
Abt says they are also giving education seminars about the upcoming FCC digital conversion for those television owners who haven't made the switch yet.
The weekend before Christmas is always the busiest of the year for the company. Abt just hopes the final days leading up to the holiday will help boost overall retail sales for the year.
