This is good unit I have it for 3 weeks now. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars it like the other reviews it is bit loud than my last a/c unit. But good unit and we are very happy with it easy to install and the timer is great as well. Good price and I would definetly recommened this to anyone but just be aware that its noisey than other window unit that u might have had in the past but it makes up for it with the other feature like remote control & timer.

I received this AC 3 years ago as a house warming gift for my bedroom and ended up putting it in my daughter's stuffy bedroom. I love that I can remotely change the settings without having to go into her room while she's sleeping.Since I didn't have an AC in my bedroom I bought another 5000 BTU (Daewoo 5300 BTU at [...]). I was extremely disappointed as it does not work at all compared to this Frigidaire model. For $10 more this is the only AC I will ever need for my 120 sq ft bedroom.

This is one great air conditioner. It works great and cools off a small room in no time. It's a bit noisy though, but we're managing just fine.

I installed this unit quickly and easily in my small bedroom window. My room is 10x10 with high ceilings, and this unit easily cools the space. Unfortunately it's a bit loud, and I don't think the temperature indicator is really on the money. That said, it gets the job done and I can sleep over the noise.

I am very happy with this AC. I needed one that was 5,000 btu and compact. It's also attractive looking as far as ACs go. This one is the best in this price range and comes with a remote! Most of the ACs this size and price don't come with extra features. It cools great, but isn't whisper quiet. Most window air conditioners are not.

The width is listed as 15.5" which is not correct. It's more like 16.3" wide. This caused a little problem for me since I wanted to install it in a window that is 16" wide. Had to cut the window frame in order to get it to fit. But otherwise very pleased!

Because of cooler weather, I have not had a chance to use it on a day-to-day basis as I would have during hotter summers. Warmer weather is coming up and I will have a chance to use it much more. But, so far I am pleased. It is just short enough to install easier than my original Kenmore air conditioner and it is easy to use.

My travel experience in S. Asia have motel rooms with extremely quiet AC units of the same size. Panasonic is one brand and others are not familiar to me.

I haven't used the thing too long yet, but I really like it. It has some great features, like energy saver and sleep timer. Energy saver turns the thing on and off to maintain the temperature you pick. Sleep runs the machine over several hours, raising the temp four degrees over seven hours, which can save good money.

I live in a large studio apartment. Kitchen is a separate doorless room. Also separate are walk-in closet and bathroom. When a/c is in use, I keep the door to bthrm/closet closed and a fan in the kitchen.

Pros: Size; it's small so it makes it easy to fit in any size window. Affordable; my main concern, I wanted to stick to a very low budget. Timer both to power on or off. Remote control.

Cons: Nothing.

I had to get a pre-cut section of Plexiglas to install it in my horizontal window so I wouldn't have to overspend on a so-called casement/slider unit, but it's been nice ever since. Sometimes there's "scratching" noises as a result of the way this thing works, but, the manual claims this is normal. It's a lot like having a refrigerator right by your bed--it's not quiet, but it isn't so loud you can't sleep (unless you're a super-light sleeper, but white noise puts me to sleep actually). The important thing is, this thing absolutely will get your 90-100 degree room that's less than 150 sq. ft. down to the temp you set it to (within 2-4 degrees or so).

I have central air in my house. Our bedroom is upstairs. I selected this window unit because it fit my window, most were to large. Now I can turn down the central air unit to the house at night and use this window unit. It is working well at this time but we haven't reached summer temperatures yet. Only problem I have had with this unit is the directional controls for airflow work only marginally, at best. I installed a deflector on the unit so it wasn't blowing directly on us all the time. Now I,m happy.

I bought this unit because my landlord wouldn't allow anything above 5000 BTUs. It does work sufficiently for a small area of my bedroom, although it is somewhat loud. The automatic temperature control works very well, but since it only cools a small area, the rest of my apartment is a bit stuffy. I recommend this unit for a small enclosed room, but not anything larger. You can somewhat adjust what direction the fan is blowing - but it uses one knob which rotates the direction in a weird fashion. Overall, this is a great AC for the price, and if you don't need it for anyplace loud.
