Comments about Danby Danby 65 Pint Dehumidifier In White:
Our basement has cracks in the wall, is frequently damp, and smells musty. Running the Danby Dehumidifier three times a week solves the stinky basement smell. We use the dehumidifier when line drying laundry in the basement, too. It works quickly and our laundry smells fresh without using chemicals (bad for the environment). We bought this unit to replace a super noisy model we purchased elsewhere that failed after a year of limited use.

This dehumidifier was supposedly the next issue of the Consumer Reports model that was a recommended best buy and unavailable anymore.
My experience is with attaching a hose line to the drain out. There was no problem at the point of connection between my hose and the Danby extension pipe. Oddly, the problem occurred between the Danby extension pipe and the Danby unit, where it was to connect. It leaked dreadfully. I had three people + myself reinstall that part of the line. I tried using it with the bucket, without the bucket, and nothing changed.
Incidentally, the bucket, itself is very, very difficult to get in and out.,
As far as other performance, it was really excellent at reducing the humidity in the air . . . however the leakage to a nearby carpeted area over a couple of days was like one of those ecological bio-systems. The Danby would never lack for moisture.
The noise was really very bad, as well.
