Not sure about energy efficiency because I have not received a bill yet. Quiet in the basement; perhaps too loud in occupied rooms. I connected a house to the sump, so the water is automatically pumped out. This is best way to empty bucket. The bucket is a little sticky on one side to pull out.

I had a mold/mildew smell in the basement and this product took all of the smell and humidity out! I am very pleased with this purchase. My basement is dry and odor free for the first time.

I bought this dehumidifier after we discovered some surface mold on our finished basement walls. This unit sucked all the moisture from this small room (approx 400 sq ft) within 2 days. It did a great job! There is no way mold can ever develop again as long as we keep this unit running. My only complaint is the unit is a little loud for my taste. I read about this unit having an awkward water pan, I don't really agree with that. The water pan pops out easily and has a handle to carry it, which is good because it holds quite a bit of water.

After much research, I found the Frigidaire to be the brand to buy and couldn't find one at stores in my area. The dehumidifier works fast to remove the dampness from the air. The noise level is like a box fan on medium speed. Easy to remove bucket and empty. Dehumifier is on wheels making it very easy to move to other rooms. Settings are not complicated.

Works pretty good! nothing to complain about so far. Had it for a month now. Just be careful when you are emptying the water pan. Sometimes it is a little hard to pull it out.

I live in a basement apartment and during the summer months, I barely slept because my bed and bedcovers felt like they were constantly wet. After I got the dehumidifier, I FINALLY had a good night's rest. It's not super quiet but not loud either. When running, it sounds like a fan. I slept with it on so it really didn't bother me much. Really great product for the price. Highly recommended!

We got a lot of rain while our house was under construction, so we undoubtedly have a lot of water in (and under?) the slab in our basement, and a lot of himidity to go with it. A basement humidifier was a must.

I decided to buy this dehumidifier based on the features, efficiency, and cost, and I'm glad I chose it. The digital humidity setting is a nice feature, but the best part is that the readout goes back to showing the actual humidity level after a few seconds, so you always know the acutal humidity of the space. This unit took my 1800 sq ft basement from 75% to 55% in a few days. I have it set to 50% and the readout stays at 55% as the slab slowly dries.

I have it set up for continuous drain (hose not included) so I can't say anything about the water level indicator or water pan.

The only feature I can see adding is a "whisper mode" (not that this unit is terribly loud as-is, but you do know it is on). I'd suggest that, once the unit hits the target setting, just move enough air to get an accurate humidity reading, or periodically turn the fan on to move enough air to get a reading - to save power/noise level. I'm not too concerned about noise in my basement, so I'm really happy with this unit.

I replaced a 15-year-old dehumidifier with this unit and experienced a 1000% improvement. The Frigidaire is easy to move around, works efficiently, doesn't freeze up, is reasonably quiet (for a basement), and does a good job eliminating summer humidity. I'm very happy with it.

Since installing central air, we noticed that the basement seemed to become more humid. We read the reviews of various dehumidifiers and decided on this product. Works very well and we noticed improvement in several days. Emptying the bucket can be a chore to keep up with but we knew that when we made the purchase. Next summer we will probably use a hose connector to drain into the basement bathroom pump. The bucket does seem to stick on the right side as other reviewers noted and we make sure to pull it from the right side as it releases easier this way. We are pleased with the overall performance of this product.

This dehumidified is very nice looking and VERY effective! The handle on the pan is nice too. The only thing akward about the pan is that water pours out of another area when dumping it, so a little bit gets on the floor each time. I have not had to clean the pan yet, but that looks like it will be difficult also...lots of partitianed areas to clean around. It does a great job though. It is a bit noisier than our former one; maybe that is because it is bigger.

I am using it in a 900+ sq ft basement and I could feel the difference from the first day. I was getting a wet smell in the basement and identified that it was due to the dampness in the wall and floor. This was only after heavy rain. Once I used the dehumifier, the feeling of wetness along with the dampness odor disappeared and we have a dryer more breathable basement. When working in continuous mode the bucket got filled in about 14 - 16 hrs and after the first few days we use it only in timer mode. The sheets we have in the basement are more drier now.

The only complain I have about the unit is that it is a bit noisy, but not high enough to wake someone else, but I understand that it is common in most dehumidifiers. So far I am very happy with the product and though a bot pricey, I feel that was worth a dry basement.

We haven't tried connecting to the hose yet, but we are planning to as sometimes wetend to forget to empty the bucket and the system auto shuts off.

Used for about 3weeks and to begin with did not hook up a hose for drainage, I wanted to monitor the water removed. Well the unit needs to be emptied in the morning and again in the evening, so 50 pints in approx 12 hours consistently in my 100+ year old basement. still using on high speed, which is a little noisy but in the basement this does not pose a problem. very happy with this unit.

This is a noisy yet effective and well built dehumidifier. I use it in the dank basement and it does the job wonderfully. The only complaint is that it is very noisy, so I won't recommend it for living room or bedrooms. But if you have a dank basement like me, you will be happy if you buy this unit. I was more interested in GE, but I am glad that I purchased this Frigidaire. In fact there was not many "good" dehumidifiers to choose from on US market. In my opinion, the best dehumidifiers are made in Japan. They are both really quiet and effective. Unfortunately japansese dehumidifiers are not available. Let me know if you can find one.

I bought this dehumidifier to use in my damp basement. It does a great job of keeping our basement dry!
It's a little loud, but since it's in my basement, I don't care. I can't hear it in the rest of the house so it's not deafening.

We bought this humidifier for our damp. After we figured out how to connect the hose to drain the humidifier, everything worked perfectly. We probably should have read the instructions a little closer so the fault probably was ours rather than the humidifier's.

The unit is everything as advertised and reviewed by others. My only observation is when at the control point, it starts and stops a lot sometimes only running a few seconds. In general I am very satisfied after 2+ weeks of operation and would recommend it.

I use the dehumidifier in the basement and am always amazed at how much moisture there is in the air. I empty the pan out everyday, though I know there's a way to hook it up to a sink so I don't have to empty it each time it's full. I sometimes spill a little bit of water trying to get the pan out, but it's placed on a tile floor so it's not much of a problem.

I spent a lot of time researching dehumidifiers before I purchased because of all the complaints about the poor durability of today's machines. It's only been about a month since I purchased the Frigidaire FDF50, but so far I'm impressed. It's extremely well built, very solid and quiet.
