Works well, a little loud, but works. The water pan is a pain to get in and out and pours poorly. But well worth the money.

I use it to keep our sailboat cabin dry in the winter. After two weeks of use it has dried out the boat well. It moves alot of air which is really effective on our boat. Downfall for someone using it for a living space - its loud. Although the simple controls are great and easy to use - it would be nice to know what % of humidity its set at on the dial. Seems to be a solid effective applicance. The hose bib is great for our boat so that we don't have to continously empty the water pan.

I have a small house (904 sq ft) with a slab foundation built near a large pond, plus lots of indoor plants which results in very high humidity in my home. In the winter (especially those -10 degree Minnesota days) my windows were so sweaty you couldn't see out of them. This dehumidifier works perfectly for me. It took my 75% humidity to 50% in about 24 hours. No more sweaty windows! The built in drain feature works perfectly with a standard water hose. I have it draining right into the floor drain in my laundry room. No need to dump the bucket, even though the bucket is very easy to remove and replace. The only negative on this unit is the noise. It sounds like a very loud window unit so I only run it during the day.

I put this in my damp crawlspace and turned it to the constant on setting. The next morning there was no water in the bucket. So I switched it with the dehumidifier I keep in the cellar. The other dehumidifier needs emptying about every third day in the cellar but after 24 hours there was less than 1/2" of water in the Frigidaire, and my other machine (with a much larger reservoir) had drawn 6 or 7 inches of water from the crawlspace. Needless to say I returned the Frigidaire, it is totally ineffective.

We bought this dehumidifier for our basement laundry room and attached the hose to drain into a nearby sink. It's compact and does a great job keeping the space dry. The fan is a little loud, so I would not recommend this in a room that you spend a lot of time in, but for a smaller, out-of-the-way space, it's perfect.

Very good value as usual from ABT. Works perfectly and reasonably quiet for a dehumidifier. Longevity is so important with these products and I cannot rate that after just three weeks of use - but I am very satisfied to date with this purchase and all previous ABT purchases.

I put this unit in a 2-car garage to remove condensation on garage windows from snow-covered cars parked inside in the winter. It does the job.

Although a bit noisy, and the capacity of the collection pan is not really large, it works well.
And as I use it in a basement workshop, the noise is not an issue. The model that it replaced was noisy also, so I believe that is inherent to the item.

It would use less energy IF the fan shut off too, when the set point of humidity is reached.However, I plan to buy a cheap $5 or $6 timer to have it shut off the machine completely after 2 or 3 hours, back on after another 3 or 4 hours, multiple times (as necessary) during the 24 hour day.While The Hose Connection is attached to the machine (not "loose"), there isn't quite enough room to insert, or actually (easily) attach the hose to the connection. The "nibs" on the female coupling were very tight going through the opening and hit the sides of the machine when tightening. More room is needed for the plastic (female) coupling on hose. [...]It was my first time doing business with them, and certainly NOT my last. You will NOT go wrong buying from ABT!!!

I had this Humidifier installed in the basement of our condo. We hooked it up with a tube for continuouse draining. So far it has made a dramatic difference in the humidity and smell of the basement

I hooked this product up to a hose to drain in the basement. It is a small size but with a hose, you don't need anything big. Easy to set up and works great.
