Good machine but noisy

Both the 45 and 65 pt versions work well. I've had many dehumidifiers over the years, and these are the best. The 45 pt version smelled terribly at first-I had to run it outdoors for many hours. It's better now, but the smell lingers. The 65 pt version is very loud at times--there's a rattle that occurs often, but most dehumidifiers I've had had similar problems.

At this point I'd buy either of these units again, at least at the price I got them for.

Works great on reducing the humidity over the whole house. I especially like being able to add a hose to the back of it so that it will drain itself.

Our basement is approximately 800 square feet. It is a dry basement (no flooding), but there is also no ventilation, so the humidity builds up and mold/mildew starts to grow. Within 24 hours of plugging in this machine the dank basement smell was gone and the air felt the same as the air on our first floor. We love it. The only drawback is that it does make noise, but I understand it isn't as noisy as some similar products out there. We often air dry clothes in the basement - I have noticed that they dry much more quickly while we are using this device.

The basement feels noticeably drier. However, the unit makes an annoying rattling noise until it gets fairly full.

I use this in my exposed basement quilt studio to prevent my fabrics from exposure to humidity. I love the 4 hrs on - 4 hrs off feature which has been doing a great job of controlling the humidity. I love being able to adjust the level of humidity I prefer.

The bucket is a bit awkward to empty and the lightweight plastic makes me wonder how long it will last... I save the water to use in my steam appliances, so pouring into a container is tricky.

I swear by Consumer Reports and this was a best buy pick.... I am not disappointed.

Aside from the digital thermostat and noise, this is identical to one I owned previously which stopped working after three years. I keep in my basement as an added safeguard -- new house with every other system imagineable to protect the finished basement. I've set at 50 relative humidity and it kicks on and off periodically. I have it set up in the utility room where the sump pump (with double battery back-up) is located....I'm surprised at how loud it is...so much that I shut the door when I'm working or watching TV. Aside from the noise, I'd recommend. I'm hoping this one lasts longer than three years....

This is great for our basement, to keep down the mildew smell. It's been running great for the past three weeks - the real test is if it keeps working for the next 10 years....

I have been extremely happy with this product since day 1! It has quiet operation, has removed the musty smell from my 80 year old home's basement. I like the fact that I can choose the operation settings at either 2 hours, 4 hours or continuous and the level of humidity as well.
I use the water to water my outdoor plants. They seem to love it! Great product and I would high recommend it to anyone.

I have not used it long enough to give it 5 stars. If it works for years like it is today I would give 5. I like that it has the humidistat and will shut off until the humidity requires its use. We have not tried to set up the hose to the drain yet, but will be doing that so we don't have to empt the bucket.

My wife complained about our loft. We have a separate central AC unit for it, and although the unit is small in BTU capacity, it doesn't run enough to remove the humidity unless we set it very low. The LG dehumidifer removes the humidity and lets us have a comfortable temperature as well.

Works well, long 5 year warranty, attractive unit and easy to operate but it is much noisier than I expected.
