I have been using this LG 65 Pint Black Dehumidifier since 7/09. It works very well in keeping my damp, musty basement dry. I have a drain hose connected to it which empty's into the basement sink. It runs continuously, from spring through fall and has functioned perfectly. I would highly recommend this product.

It's only been 3 weeks, but we're happy with this dehumidifier so far. Looks great. Controls are great. So effective, the water pan fills almost every day. We're Coastal Californians, and this product is absolutely necessary for preventing mold growth on the walls throughout the apartment. Sure, it hums, but it's more of a white noise in the background... we run it at night in the hallway or the living room, and we sleep just fine. Also it isn't a problem at all if we let it run during the day while away at work. Auto-shut off feature is perfect for ensuring it never overflows. A couple of recommendations for improvement: put a handle on top, so that you can tilt it back to wheel it around. (The wheels on bottom are great, but you do have to get down low to push it on the carpeting.) Also, the water pan is awkward to empty. You almost have to do it in the bathtub, as the water doesn't pour out very neatly. It usually ends up all over the countertop and the floor if I attempt to empty it in the kitchen/bathroom sink.

Seems to keep the humidty where you set it.
Nice looking & compact.
When the compressor is running it vibrates the water tray. It is loud especially for the price and other reviews stated it was quiet.

we used this unit in a garage that had to be repainted due to mildew. It is the second dehumidifier to service this area and has been very effective in controlling the moisture and mildew.It does make a little more noise than our [...]unitbut due to the area we are using it, there has been no problem. The 5 yr warranty is certainly a bonus.

We have a very large and tall crawl-space and the wood floors above it were cupping. We added more moisture barrier and installed the dehumidifier. That was 3 weeks ago and at the time the humidity in the space was 65%. We haven't had it measured since but lots of water has come out the drain and the room seems much less musty. I selected this one primarily because it seemed a good value and for the warranty.

I used the product in my basement, where the family room,laundry and storeage area.The moister was making the area smell like mildew. Now,after using the dehumidifier the ordor is gone and the area feels dry. It's a good product, but they need to work on making it quiet.

The dehumidifier is in the basement. It works very well and fairly quickly. The unit, however, vibrates enough while the motor is running to rattle both the outer shell of the unit and the water bucket. I put some stick-on carpet dots that you use for the legs of chairs on the bucket. That helped a good bit but the outer shell still makes some noise. I will mention that this is the second of these units we have purchased. The other was given to a friend with a flooded basement and still works great (noisy also).

It was a quick and easy setup.
I ordered it on a Saturday -- it was shipped on the following Monday and two days later(Wednesday) UPS delivered it. I opened it up, set the timer and plugged it in. No problems.

Excellent product. Sturdy, quiet, great performance, easy access to water bin (front), but you probably want to connect to a sump pump to avoid frequent trips to the basement to empty the water bucket.

I use this product in my basement. The unit really dry up my basement. Two weeks after uses, my basement smell normal again. I could not believe how much water it created, I have to dump every two day or 3 day. Now, not often anymore.

This unit works well, and looks great - a little large, but we wanted a higher capacity unit. It is a bit noisy, however. It doesn't heat up the room like our older de-humidifier does, which I consider a plus.
Ordering online was easy and the delivery was very timely and it came exactly when promised. We came back from a trip to find this waiting for us which was perfect because we had an air conditioner leak in our basement while we were gone and it was very much needed to avoid further problems.

Definitely is controlling the basement humidity well. Noisy, but similar to an older model I had, and not a problem in the basement. This model was chosen because of the 5 yr warranty, as the 3-yr-old Fedders predecessor failed, and most reviews indicate that units rarely last 5 years. For reference, LG builds units sold as Comfort Aire, Friedrich, GE, Goldstar, Kenmore, & LG.

Use to remove moisture from my basement. Fairly quiet, removes lots of moisture, and is neatly packaged.
Although it is enegry star rated, I believe it uses a pretty good amount of electricity. May be too loud for rooms other than the basement.
Fast delivery and arrived in perfect condition.

The unit really takes humidity out of the space the only issue was attaching the hose so it would automatically empty the water. The attachment did not screw in or connect but rather it just hung on. If the unit is jiggled it falls out. So if you are using a hose not the best unit for you.

I researched dehumidifiers exhaustively online and in my local [...], [...], ect. After looking at the reviews/price for all 65-70Pint models I could not Beat the **5 Year** Carry in Service Warranty that LG offers on Labor, Parts & Compressor. I Called my LG 800 number and confirmed the location of the local LG Carry in Service Shop 7 Miles from me BEFORE I Bought this LHD659EBL at Abt.com (LHD659EBK is their Model #) [...] NO SALES TAX!!! DO NOT use the poorly designed factory plastic drain attachment. Instead use 5/8 OD x 1/2 ID clear plastic drain hose, this is a nice retrofit and holds with no clamps and you can see the water draining to your condensate pump. The first 2 days we could feel and smell the change in the musty/moldy basement and now no more headaches or sinus issues in our basement gym. After the second week I put the fan on low setting but it would not change from high. I unplugged and waited 2 minutes and after plugging the unit back in it now can be set for both high and low fan speed. I must say this is the first LG I have bought and the 5 year warranty sold me on it!! Usually I try to only buy American products but until GE, Kenmore, Frigidaire or Panasonic back their products with solid 5 year warranties they won't get me back again. [...]

I bought this dehumidifier for my basement to replace another one. My previous dehumidifier, different brand, was incredibly noisy and ran constantly. This one is quiet and efficient, and can be programmed to be on for two or four hours, and off for the same amount of time. I am very pleased with this purchase.
