One design problem

Comments about Honeywell Honeywell QuietCare 4 Gallon Humidifier:

It is a nice looking unit, relatively quiet, with automatic turn off when it reaches the humidity setting you specify. The one big problem is the water tank. It fills from the bottom, so that after you fill it, you must turn it fill side down to replace it into the unit. The seal is very difficult to set and unless it just right, it will leak when you turn it over. It should have been designed to top fill.

Not worth it...

Cons:
Difficult to Fill, Noisy

Comments about Honeywell Honeywell QuietCare 4 Gallon Humidifier:

Not a great humidifier....it works since the water must be going somewhere but I have not noticed a material difference in the humidity in our bedroom - I think it may be making the air quality worse actually. It's also very noisy despite it's claim to be quiet compared to other humifiers. We are going to replace this one asap!

Puts out a BUNCH of water.

Comments about Honeywell Honeywell QuietCare 4 Gallon Humidifier:

This thing makes a genuine difference in an otherwise very arid master bedroom. The overnight air quality is decidedly improved. The tank is easy enough to fill in a tub, but the handle is on the top and the opening is on the bottom. Especially considering the weight when filled, the reservoir handling issues could be a deal breaker for the elderly.

I bought a model 640 the same day, this one is larger but I prefer the 640 due to the noise level, which is not terrible, but noticeable.

Comments about Honeywell Honeywell QuietCare 4 Gallon Humidifier:

This is an awesome unit for a family - we go through the 4 gallons daily. I love it because it has no moist output - not damaging out hardwood or walls. It is quite noisy for a model marked "quiet". It has about the same noise level as our hepa on high. The fan does also create a cool fan output - don't plan on putting this in a bedroom.

Powerful
By ReginaVerified Purchaser from Syracuse, NY on 2/23/2007
Pros:
Adjustable Settings, Easy to operate, Powerful
Cons:
Bulky
Best Uses:
Bedroom, Dry Winter, Help With Ailments, Living Room
Bottom Line:

Comments about Honeywell Honeywell QuietCare 4 Gallon Humidifier:

Powerful machine - not very quiet on med or high setting, but to moisten a dry winter house, this is a winner. Difficult to handle tank when filling - heavy and awkward, especially for anyone with hand or wrist problems. BUT placed in an upstairs hallway, this machine is working great to make our house more comfortable.
