I have 2 dogs sleep in my bedroom and they made my bedroom smell like pet store. Another problem, the heat was turned so high and usually I got wake up and need to drink some water every night... After I use this product, the smell is gone, every night I breathe the fresh and clean air, no more wake up by the heat... I can have very sweet dream every night.

Well designed and relatively quiet at low & medium settings (high setting, tho, is somewhat loud). Water tank for humidifier model easy to fill. Tank lasts a day on low, less for higher settings. Humidistat helpful. Have yet to change filters, so can't comment.

Very nice. Professional build. Puts out a lot of air. Humidifier tank is a bit small, but ok. A little loud on the max setting, but it puts out a ton of air.

I have owned an older Sharp Plasmacluster running 24/7 for years and it has worked really well considering that I am a smoker - friends that visit me always comment that it doesn't smell like a smoking home.

I was intrigued by this new model with the added humidifying feature, thinking I could eliminate running a seperate humidifier in the winter. True to the Sharp reputation, this unit is extremely quiet and effective, keeping my home smoke and static free.

The only cons about the KCC150U is it doesn't come with a remote control like the previous models did, and the water tank is quite small (about 1 gal) so it has to be refilled 3-4 times a day if you'r in a drier climate.

I bought this air purifier because my wife suffers from allergic coryza at home. After I put it in our living room and bedroom (we move it every night to a bedroom), her allergy got much better. It works, and it's very quiet and energy efficient. The only thing I'm not very happy with it is that it has the air inlet in the back (I think it would be better to have it in front or sides). So, we use it with the back facing front.

I compared Sharp's KCC150U, Rabbit Air 582A, and Honeywell's 50250; and decided to purchase Sharp KCC150U. See below for my findings:Honeywell 50250 - $160, about 50% of price comparing to Sharp and Rabbit Air. I bought this product from [...] and decided to return it due to the loud noise, and efficiency. First of all, it is so loud that it sounds like you are standing beside a air conditioning's fan coil unit. It does not have a sensor, and therefore will have to be shut down until you 'feel' like the air is clean.Rabbit Air 582A vs Sharp KCC150U: $399 vs $379. These 2 are comparable products. Rabbit Air has odor sensor and dust/particle sensor, but Sharp does not. Sharp has humidity sensor with humidifier's function, but Rabbit Air does not. KCC150U has higher CADR than 582A, KCC150U will clean room faster than 582A. 582A claims to have bio-engineered HEPA filter which could kill flu virus and bacteria; I could not find any extensive literature on Sharp's filter. 582A claims to have 'ZERO' ozone emission; sharp has 0.05ppm, which is 1/5 of allowable ozone emission specified by government. I have been running KCC-150U continuously for 3 days. It works good so far. Sometime, the dust/particle sensor will turn red and trigger the fan. I could not find any literature to show that KCC-150U can clean odor. 2 in 1 - Purifier+Humidifier certainly is the selling point of this unit.

Unit was received quickly from ABT and in good condition. Purifier runs very quiet on Automatic Speed but it's pretty loud on high...although it really puts some air out in that speed. After doing some research, ABT had the best price on the Internet for this product. I would order again from this company.

Sharp in Japan had released new models in 2008. It is smaller and additional functions. But it is not released in USA yet... (04/2009)
So I chose this old model. This is bulky but quiet well. I am satisfied with this.

This has really cut down on the dust and has raised the moisture level. It is the quietest humidifier and air purifier available. Last night while cooking dinner some grease had spilled onto the burner and the kitchen was filled with smoke, the purifier is in the living room and within seconds the air quality indicator light turned red and it went into high mode for about 20 minutes until the air was clean again, ordinarily those odors would have lingered for hours.
