This is a dual mode machine that is compact and fits in a very small space no other machine can do. However, I have had the machine replaced once only to have the same issue which is the clothes come out smelling burnt and/or wet instead of the fresh sent you normally expect, even with the use of two dryer sheets. This is the only machine that will fit in the space, so I must need to accept the fact that clothes are not going to come out as fresh as a typical washer dryer.

I would only recommend this machine if there is no other option in terms of space and utility.

First, if you are reading this review, you probably are in a situation that a unit like this would be very convenient. We live in a small ranch house with no basement and our former washer and dryer were in the kitchen, taking up a lot of space. A stackable was not an option, so we decided to get this and I am very happy with it. We are a family of 5, with 3 small children, and we do quite a bit of laundry. It does take a while for very large loads to wash and dry, around 4 hours, but smaller loads dry in 1.5-2 hours. I usually try to keep up on laundry so this is not a problem for me. But I do love the capacity of this. I can wash my huge king size mattress pad with no problem. I loaded it up with stuffed animals yesterday. It's quiet, energy efficient, uses less detergent, and plays a little song when the cycle is done. One draw back is that clothes are a little steamy at the end, which is great when I can take them out and give them a shake right away, the steam just goes away and the clothes are dry and it helps reduce wrinkles. If I can't get to them right away and they cool off in the machine, sometimes, depending on the load size, they are a little damp. But I am so glad we got this unit. It is so convenient and I love that I don't have to change loads from one machine to another and that I have so much more space in my kitchen now. Also, one other note, this machine is full size like any other HE machine. The smaller capacity is the perfect size to fit under a counter if you don't have a laundry room.

We bought this combo unit for our condo in Four Lakes and it works great. We now plan our clothes washing around our schedule instead of planning our schedule around our clothes washing. No hassle worry free clothes washing. Set the delay timer to finish your wash when you want it done and the unit does the rest. The sides do get a little hot during the drying cycle, otherwise no issues. Highly recommend.

This is the first review i have ever written for a product, mostly because the reviews for this product is what led me to buy it. This product is the perfect solution for any apartment where all you have is a water line. This fit into a small pantry in our apartment and we used the plumbing from the kitchen for the washer portion. You dont need a vent for drying, and the clothes come out dry. We were originally very worried because some reviews stated that the clothes come out damp, but that will only occur if you over stuff it. We are a family of 2 and wash clothes pretty regularly, and we can fit a normal sized load into the unit and it will come out dry. It does take abour 4-5 hours depending on the size, but if you go to work and come back you have dry clean clothes, same if you do it over night. Also the unit is quiet. We would definitely reccomend this to someone looking for a ventless solution to washing. Also, I dont think we would go back to a non-combo after experiencing the ease of this. I would definitely rather have two of these units than 2 separate washer/dryers even if the capacities were more. [...]. Aside from the legnth of cycle, this is a quality product.

I use my LG washer/dryer combo everyday. I love that it is so compact it fits into a small space in my bathroom linen closet in my apartment. The wide range of settings ensure my laundry comes out perfect every time. I don't mind that the machine takes a little longer than others to finish a full wash-dry cycle, because I don't have the pain of running up and down stairs or the bother of changing from wash to dry. This thing does it all. I wouldn't be surprised if some day I came home and the machine had folded my laundry for me.

I have had this product for about two weeks now and so far I am very happy. It is a louder than I expected when the water stream out from the jets and if you are trying to keep it very quiet I recommend buying brackets for the pipes to minimize the noise when the water first begins shooting out. To get the clothes fully dry you definitely need to expect to use the full 3.5-4 hours total wash/dry time. I do about 1-2 loads a day about three or four times during the week so far. I am a little nervous b/c a lot of lint collects in the rubber opening of the door so time will tell if that becomes a problem. Overall, so far I would recommend if you live in a home that you can not vent.

Did a fair amount of research and found mostly positive reviews but was a bit concerned about length of wash/dry cycle reported by others. I have had the unit about 1 month and the longer cycle time is not an issue for me. I bought this unit for the energy efficiency rating and the vent-less dryer (I live in a condo). It is awesome not having to move clothes from washer to dryer. The steam heat dry is fantastic and has left my clothes wrinkle free.

We use the LG about twice per week. We love the ventless drying and only 120 volt electricity requirement. We live in an older condo, so the availability of venting and 240 volts was very limited. With the LG, we can plug it into a standard electrical outlet, use the portability kit to connect the water supply lines to the bathroom faucet and place the drain hose in the bathtub! No need for 240 volt wiring, dryer vents and special drain lines. It does a great job washing the clothes with a myriad of settings. It does take a little longer to wash & dry multiple loads, but very well worth it.

The machine is quite remarkable. Prior to this I had a whirlpool duet, 1st generation machine from 2002. Long story short but they changed the roof on my townhouse, added new vents to the roof which had mesh which caused a block. Anyway it backed up and overloaded the heat capacitor. Frustrated because of so many repairs since the time of purchase, I decided it was time for anew.
I'd always been interested in the ventless machines but was far too leery because of horror stories I'd heard with incredibly long dry cycles with twisted wrinkled clothing. I saw a few commercials on youtube but not about his machine. I priced logic against the marketed to of the line equipment, then decided to actually get the combo machine with a dryer on top.
I figured that it could serve the use of three machines in one small enclosure, stacked. I was able to pair it with a regular dryer because the cost of this was in check with other similar models. I figured, what the heck and bought both. They arrived a few days ago and was able to wash everything in the house that was washable by rotating from only the wash cycle to the separate dryer. Finally since we have been without with machines for over a month, I figured it was time to give the combo a full cycle when I went to bed. The wash was is very quiet, ironically the only noise you hear is the water flowing, no motors or other sounds other then when the pump forms on. (It's just a deep hum)
Since then i've used the combo exclusively. It really does a good job. Just don't overfill, or, as the instructions suggest that if you are washing at full capacity to remove half the load before drying. It basically steams the clothes (probably hot enough to sterilize!) it does take some time but jut keep in mind what it is doing! It's evaporating steam from the clothing by a heater and cold water heat exchange.
Overall, I'm very surprised and happy with this purchase.
The logic was that if this was designed to run for a significant amount of time the motor must be more durable then the common models which only serve one function, thus a secondary dryer priced remarkably close to a standard set costs almost the same. Anyway, the machine alone if a 5 star, if you are patient :)

This is a great washer & dryer. I live in a condo where venting is not an option. I originally had a eurotech washer/dryer combo where I was first introduced to the concept of all in one machine. What a treat - in theory. The eurotech machine was garbage... I waited months for LG to release their new large capacity combo machine and it has been awesome! Clothes are soft, whites are white, they are wrinkle free, smell fresh, and even though it takes awhile too run the whole cycle, I yet to ever wait for the machine. I run it before I sleep or before I go to work. When I return, the clothes are ready to fold or hang. I think everybody will want one of these. And it claims to be very energy efficient so I don't have to sweat doing small loads. Thank you LG!

It is pretty self sufficient and easy to use. Detergents with the HE logo on the front (High Efficiency). You CAN use Oxyclean with your whites.

I had seen these units on a TV show and searched all over Atlanta for them and every salesperson I talked to said they had heard bad things. Strangly online people loved them. It then occured to me that salespeople want to sell you a washer and dryer. We have two units and it definately makes my life easier. Clothes feel damp when they are done but a couple shakes and they are wrinkle free and dry. The dryer works with heat and steam. If the clothes aren't dry enough press start and then just press the dryer button and don't turn the knob it will automatically add a spin cycle you can turn off by pressing the spin button. I discovered this by accident it is not in the instructions. Amazing product!

Great solution to the problem of no outside vent in my condo. Does a fantastic job with no supervision. This type of machine has a longer run cycle but the adjustable delay timer makes it easy to time it to start while I'm at work and finish right after I get home. Makes doing laundry a breeze.

This is a great machine, beautifully finished and does the job very well. It does take about 4 hours to do a normal wash and a normal dry, but I learned to use the quick cotton and normal dry, that takes about 2 1/2 hour, and my clothes and sheets come out very clean. My clothes are normal soiled level, I guess I can get away with the quick wash. Even for Normal wash, set it and go to work, I never really worry about the long cycle time. I have it hooked up to the portable kit, since I don't have a permanent laundry setup, it works well but you gotta make sure you lock all the wheels. Spinning is a little scary when the load is heavy but hey gotta work with what you have.

I live on in a 2nd floor apartment and previously had a portable washer & dryer.(separate units) Since I only have standard electrical outlets, I was finding it very difficult to replace my machines after they died. This machine was a lifesaver in every way! It's energy efficient, uses a standard electrical outlet, and can wash a good size load! (unlike most portables which barely seem to fit more than a pair of socks!)

This machine washes very well! It dries well too, but you have to experiment a little to get the right setting, load size, etc. Some of my clothing requires air drying anyway, so that helps reduce the load size a little. Drying does take longer than it would in a conventional machine and clothing does feel damp at first, but once you take your clothes out, they do feel dry. I prefer to do my wash and dry cycles separately, rather than setting to do consecutively. That way I can take my clothes out prior to drying to shake them out a bit. It seems to help in preventing wrinkling.

One of the things I love best is that this machine is quiet! I use it as a portable (connected to my kitchen sink). Even in the spin cycle (on medium), on a metal dolly, on an old floor, it hardly makes any noise or vibration.

....and you gotta love the "end of cycle" song! (such a happy little jingle)

I initially went into this purchase very cautiously. Now I'm very happy I made it.

This washer/dryer has been wonderful! I can't say enough good things about it.

Our laundry room had too much stuff in it, now without an extra box for the dryer we're able to store more and our laundry room is more organized than ever before!

The larger size is nice and we've fit a queen size comforter in it! The clothes come out clean and I don't worry about it harming my delicates. It is the quietest washer or dryer I've ever heard.

In the past when washing clothes in hot water it would use up our hot water supply so you couldn't shower if you had just washed a load. This machine is so efficient that we can shower while running a Sanitary (extra hot) cycle. Can't even notice that it's going.

I read a lot of reviews before buying this machine and one thing people mention is the clothes not coming out totally dry. At first it feels like they might be wet still, but it's only because they are almost steamy. They dry instantly after taking them out, especially with a quick shake.

The fun features: it has a delay wash, so I can set it to be done when I get home from work and can fold laundry right away. I'm never home long enough to sit through an entire load so having it dry without moving the clothes is fantastic! The drum light is nice to be able to see that the clothes are indeed being cleaned. (Because it works so differently than a top load washer the first time I had to double check). The level of settings are great. And the fact that it automatically detects the load size is very nice. I know it's always the most energy efficient. In the winter it will be nice because it puts out a lot of heat and moisture. For the summer I close the laundry room door and the heat stays in there. And the LG sings a little song when it's done, kind of fun.

This has been one of our best purchases! If we ever move this machine is definitely coming with us! We love it.

Bought from ABT the day they happened to receive this new modelThis is HEAVY machine[...]I wish my pedestal had arrived first, now I have to try to get it up on the pedestal.On turning on the cold water initially, water flowed continuously, filling up the drum. Machine reported code FE, which is broken water inlet valve, which says to call for service. Luckily turning the machine off and back on allowed the cold water valve to reset, no issues since.The first 7 loads of laundry ended up smelling slightly of burned rubber. Not a permanent smell, but it was very noticable and filled up the laundry space. I believe this was due to the new rubber seal on the door and how hot things get on normal dry cycles. Load 8 had no more odor and the burning smell is gone. Again, this wasnt a "machine is on fire" smell, just a breakin that didnt occur at the factory.Those problems aside, the machine works great. Cycle times, if filled 1/2 full per instructions, is generally 2.75 - 4.0 hours. It is a HUGE drum at 4.3 cu feet. You can do a full drum of wash if you want, but then it will not dry well, because all dryers need to have about 2x the capacity of the washer to allow clothes to tumble, and this is no exception.But if you understand what you are getting, this is a fantastic machine. The kw/yr use is 128. The lowest usage dryer is 800, so huge energy savings. And it is very smart about the amount of water it uses. Clothes can seem damp if taken out immediately on cycle end, but within seconds they feel dry, it is just humidity.There are just numerous great features with this machine. The ability to put a load in and set the delay so it is dry and ready for you when you are ready for it is great. It is very quiet on our solid floors. It will continue to tumble and fluff a load when drying is done for up to 4 hours to keep wrinkles from forming.One annoying feature is the fact that the door lock doesnt unlock on cycle end till you cycle the power, but that is not really an issue.All in all a fantastic machine. It saves space, money, water, and meant in our home with 60 amp service and no vent outlet, no modifications were required.Super happy with this purchase.
