excellent device, good power, clean sound and it has a protective mode which stood me in good stead as the wires on the speakers kept coming out and shorting. my only gripe is the actual size of it as the flippin' thing wouldn't fit in my audio cabinet and i had to make other arrangements. not user friendly on the setup but then i'm new to this and i understand that all receivers nowadays share the same illness

customer service is excellent and i leaned on them heavily. i buy most of my electronices thru ABT nowadays.

This receiver will do it all. Very good, clean power. Easy setup. The Audessy EQ Xt setup really tamed the acoustics in my fairly large room. I feed 2 HDMI inputs and use the HDMI monitor out to a 56" Samsung DLP set. Works great other than a slight delay in sound output when switching inputs or changing channels on the cable box. I use the multichannel inputs for SACD and DVDAudio playback and I am hearing the music like never before!

I love the HDMI upconversion to 720P from analog and lower level digital sources. Unfortunately it also downconverts 1080i signals to 720P. It allows pass through of signals using their native conections. It has all current decoders. Set up can take awhile, but audissey speaker set up is accurate if not speedy. I haven't yet been able to program my DirecTV remote with the proper code to power up the receiver. I think that I'm going to love this receiver.

This unit is much easier to set up than my last system (Pioneer Elite 49TX). It's performance is better at less than half the price.

I got the 804 and WOW! The 805 I'm jealous. Had to get It now i have both. 804 for good low key stuff in the living room. 805 Show my friends why i don't go to the movies anymore. P.S. Don't short you're self with cheap speakers. Get the right gear and your friends will pay you for the movie.
