I definetely recommend Onkyo receivers because you get the best bang for your buck. I am using this receiver for my home theater system. I am pushing two polkaudio RC85i Rectangular in-wall loudspeakers for my front speakers and three polkaudio RC65i Loudspeakers for my center channel and rear surrounds and an Onkyo 10" 230 watt powered subwoofer and it is more than enough sound for wathing movies. The Onkyo receiver also allows you to bi amp the two front channels for more watts and more base.

Was in need of an upgrade, from my 13yr old Kenwood a/v receiver. Wanted a home theather reveicer that offered multi inputs with a single hdmi to the tv, and a zone 2 for deck speakers. I'm running a 5 speaker setup (a sub is the next purchase), and the sound is just amazingly awesome out of this reciever, either radio, cd, mp3's, tv. The reciever is a peice of pie to set-up & tinker with. This is an awesome reciever, and i'm happy with my purchase, it exceeded my expectations!!! Just need to start upgrading my speakers now....
Submitted an order online on a Tuesday, and received product on Thursday. Was hoping to receive product in 2 day, but 3 days was acceptable. Product was delivered in perfect condition.

i have this receiver connected to a bose 5.1 speaker system. sounds great! i read reviews on this product that stated it ran very hot. i have not experienced this issue. i have it in a wood "entertainment center-like" piece of furniture. there is nothing directly sitting on top of it, but the clearance is only about 1-2 inches on top. plenty of room behind it. it gets warm, but not dangerously hot (like some reviews stated). it is loud and powerful! sounds clear. very easy to set up.

I wish you could keep speaker sound while headphones are plugged in. I like to use the phone jack to power speakers in the next room at my computer. That way I can be in the next room and still listen to a TV show. I can't use zone 2 for this because it powers the speakers on my screened in porch. My old Denon would allow this, and I miss that feature.

This is my first big boy purchase as far as HT stuff goes. And I couldn't be happier. If you've got HDMI cables, this thing is incredibly easy to set up. My speaker set up at the moment leaves a lot to be desired, and this thing still rocks. Looking forward to many many years together with this receiver.

It has worked perfectly. There is almost too much capability. I have only had one issue trying to run my home theater pc through it, but turns out it is my fault using the wrong cables. Overall, recommended to all who need an excellent, inexpensive receiver.

This product was a great buy for the money. It has plenty of power, has 4 hdmi inputs, and has excellent sound. The biggest drawback is having another remote, but that goes with any receiver. I would strongly recommend it.

This receiver is awesome! I've owned the same receiver (JVC) for the past 18 years, and thought it was time for a upgrade. I didn't know what I was missing. This receiver has it all. Sirius Satellite radio ready, iPod hookups, and up to 4 HDMI video inputs to just name a few.
The sound quality is excellent from this unit. The second I turned it on, I was instantly happy. Unlike some receivers, the HDMI cables actually work with the audio, so no need to run optical for audio. Also you can plug in Component cables for a X-box or Playstation, and still use the HDMI for the TV. Some receivers don't allow for this either.
The set up and controls are very easy to use. Even my wife is able to learn the remote and how to turn on everything. Although I will be upgrading to a Logitech universal remote soon. The remote is also universal, so you can program the remote to work with your TIVO, Cable box, DVD player, or any component.
Over all I give this a A+.

I recently purchased a Samsung 52" LCD TV, and I wanted to upgrade from my Harmon Kardon receiver. I did a lot of research, and the Onkyo was a clear winner. I ordered it from ABT, and eagerly waited it's delivery. In the meantime, I read some negative reviews (not everybody can be satisfied), and ALMOST decided to get it from a different manufacturer. After reading some more info, I decided to keep the Onkyo, and I'm glad that I did! It's great! Easy setup, easy speaker calibration. I'm very happy...and once again subscribe to the belief that you can't believe everything that you read.
This was the first time that I ordered from ABT. The price was great. The communication was great. The delivery was fast. I will definitely use them again. P.S. I REALLY like the double-box! Packing the Onkyo box into their own surrounded by air bags was terrific. Not a bit of damage.

I purchased this receiver because my older receiver did not support 1080p HDMI switching and I purchased a new TV that does do HDMI. It works well and has a lot of HDMI inputs. I only wish it could upconvert to 1080p over the HDMI.
Overall I am very happy with this receiver.

I've had this receiver for about 3 weeks and I'm loving it. The setup is very easy, just make all of the a/v connections in the back, then run the Audyssey Automatic Speaker Setup with the Mic that comes with this receiver and enjoy the GREAT sound! I have it hooked up to a Bose Acoustimass 10 Series IV 5.1 Speaker System and they never sounded better. You hear all the little details and the channel separation is very good to.
I live in the Chicago area and got my package the next day (less than 22 yours later) for FREE! It arrived inside of an outer box (double boxed) for safety of the unit. The customer service was great in helping me out when I phone ordered it. Very nice. I will buy again in the future. Thanks

The Onkyo TXSR606 was simply the easiest AV receiver that I have ever set up. When I fired up the unit the first time I was truly amazed at sharp, crystal sound that a this mid-priced AV receiver produced. The remote control was a little busy at first, but after a little use it is very functional. The only draw back at this point is that the unit does produce a lot of heat so you have to make sure that it is well ventilated during use.

I had this AVR recommended to me by a number of people and found the best price here at ABT, by far. The packaging was superb! The box that was shipped was huge and dented, but the 6-8" of bubble inside the big box meant that the Onkyo box was in pristine condition.
So far I am quite pleased with the features and functionality of this product. In comparison, I had a Sony HTIB before this and this beats the Sony for both sound and function. I am quite pleased with the fact that the Location 2 (remote) output can have a different source than the main output. In other words, someone can watch a movie in the living room while I play my ipod through this and listen to it on the speakers on my patio. And each location has seperate volume controls.
This AVR has a number of features that I have not got around to even trying yet. I found it easy to setup and like the auto speaker part of the setup, where it tests all your speakers and ballparks the settings giving you a good starting point. Many of the features like this are found on high end receivers, so for the price and the sound, this is hard to beat.
About the only negative I can say is that the video upconverting to my plasma set isn't great. Not that it's bad, it's just not great. But considering the price range this is in, I doubt that a person could get a better deal
Delivery was quick, 3 days with standard shipping to Houston. While the shipping box was battered (not abt's fault), the product box inside was pristine due to about 6-8" of buble packaging.
I did call customer service to change my order after entering it on their website. The CSR was friendly and prompt. The change was hassle free and asking for a new invoice, I received it via email shortly even though it was Sunday.
I would certainly recomend ABT to anyone as a web based store.

I use the product as the main A/V hub for my home "theater". I have a 40" Toshiba LCD TV with XBox 360, PS3, HighDef Cable DVR, Panasonic DMP BD30K, plus other items. I like the convenience of one cable connection to TV and not having to switch inputs all the time. Upconversion is nice, but not superb. It looks better for cable signals than other sources. Auto configuration of speaker setup seems to have worked fine. Heat hasn't been a serious factor.
Also, need to upgrade speakers before I can fully appreciate its audio qualities.
Delivery was fine, it arrived on the expected day and the packaging was more than sufficient. No problems.

I'm upgrading from a 5 year old JVC system that was at the time, pretty state-of-the-art for home A/V. This Onkyo is infinitely superior. Much less degradation of video sygnal when it passes through (I'm usining all HDMI components). The setup is great - it programs itself for the best sound using a (included) michrophone.
It is a little slow to power up although that may be due to HDMI and not necessarily the Onkyo.
