Comments about Pioneer Pioneer Elite Black 7-Channel AV Receiver:
I bought another Pioneer receiver for another part of my house after being happy with a previous Pioneer Elite receiver. There are a lot of similarities between the two and some nice improvements.
I was impressed with the improvements in the menu display and iPod screen. My old receiver had a generic gray screen and black lettering for menus and the ipod. The ipod screen now shows the album picture. I was a little disappointed that it does not go into a screen saver mode when you are listening to the ipod for an extended time. It does dim.
The only problems I have had have been with the ipod connection. There have been a couple of times where the ipod/receiver has stopped responding. I think this is an issue with most ipod & receiver connections. I read about issues with Yamaha and Denon as well when comparing receivers. The nice thing about Pioneer is that it comes with the ipod cable, so there is no need for a seperat $199 ipod dock.
Overall I am happy with the receiver and will be keeping it.

This receiver offers a great power output for the price and has a ton of connectivity options. Even better, the surround setup is fully automated through the use of a supplied microphone. You won't be disappointed with the purchase of this unit.
