[...]I bought this receiver based off of a review[...] for the Yamaha RX-V659. The HTR-5960 is the same receiver with the big box distribution name (HTR instead of RX) minus the dedicated second zone controls. Since that's a feature I'm not totally concerned with right now I went for it. I enjoy the 7 channel stereo processing and digital music enhance mode for my iPod. I also enjoy using the pure direct mode for 2 channel stereo from my cd player, sound seems to be the cleanest in that mode. You can change the input names which I thought was pretty cool. Setup was easy with the YPAO although it set the crossover point at 200 HZ. I've since lowered that to 120 HZ and like it where it is. I've got a 2400 cubic feet room and it gets plenty loud for me with my bookshelf speakers 5.1 system. I'm still running a standard def. TV so I can't comment on any of it's component switching ability. [...]
