Comments about Yamaha Yamaha 7.1 Channel Home Theater Black Receiver:
Almost exactly what you expect from a mid/high-end Yamaha receiver. Remote is somewhat klunky, and room for improvement in video latency when switching between inputs. Otherwise, A+, especially for the warm, deep sound.

I have it connected to 2 NHT VT-2 Towers Bi-amped, an NHT Classic 3 center and a pair of NHT Classic 3 bookshelf for surround. In addition, a Samsung FP-T6374 full 1080P Plasma, a TiVo series 3 Hi def DVR with hard drive expander, an Apple 160 Gig TV, a Samsung BD-UP5000 Blu-ray/HD-DVD Player,a Yamaha DVD-C961 DVD/CD changer and a Sony VCR. I also activated XM and the ipod. It is an amazing receiver. Pure Direct feature makes a big difference in the sound quality. If you are in the market, you have to give this one a good look.

Comments about Yamaha Yamaha 7.1 Channel Home Theater Black Receiver:
The yamaha 1800 has low THD, 4 Hdmi inputs and only one cable from my TV to the receiver. Great sound, good separation of sound in the surround and doesnt get hot, pop, shut down for no reason, and has a nice cosmetic front with a solid flip down tray. The only issue is because of the muting chip in the receiver and my speakers sensitivity, I can hear a slight audible noise when I change inputs on the front input knob. This is probably more due to my speakers though and not the receiver, the noise cant be heard if you switch inputs from your couch, I should add Im also a perfectionist as well :) A+ receiver, get it!
