I purchased two of these items all because of the functionality. I was looking for something that would play cassette tapes that has the "auto reverse" feature. This deck has that.
The only problem I encountered (with both decks) is that they make a loud noise every time the auto reverse happens. This noise is very distracting and frustrating. I tried both decks because I initially thought it may be a manufacturing defect. They both do this. I am very unhappy with this matter because my wife uses it at night to help her sleep and the noise disturbs us both. If it wasn't for this, I would be a very satisfied customer.

It handles old tapes very well. However, without a remote, you have to get close up to the deck (especially if you wear glasses) to find the buttons to push, which is something of a nuisance. I expect that over time I will become familiar with their function and it will become easier to use. I'm just grateful that tape decks are still being made.

I use this to record audiotape to audiotape. I am a little in behind in technology but have a huge library of books on tape & am not willing to turn them into another media yet.
Item was on backorder but company kept me informed of when it would arrive.

I just used my cassette deck to listen to old tapes as I did my housework. The sound is great. I could hear even when I was in the basement. It's a little confusing when I want to go back and listen to a particular song again. I'm sure I'll adjust in time.

I needed a cassette deck to replace one with a shorted-out rt channel output. The Sony TCWE 475 has the advantage of speed control in one of the cassette wells to correct for off-pitch tapes. So far the deck has performed very well. The purpose of the deck is to convert cassettes to CD and other digital media.
As to one of the entries in the "pro"s box - ask me how durable it is in a few years, not a few days.
As with past purchases from Abt, I greatly appreciate the the prompt delivery, and the attention paid to careful durable packaging.

This is to use my recordings of symphony, opera and audio recordings that was a replace for the LP recording and use in autos using these tape recordings.
