Comments about JVC JVC DVD Micro Component System:
Good sound w/ three way speakers. Some distortion w/ heavy bass. Noisy whirring sound eminates from inside machine while running CD/DVD - very distracting and annoying. Never had a machine do this before. Is it the fan running or the CD drive unit? Very long main unit - hard to get on regular sized shelf. Many operations can only be done with remote - needs more manual manipulation possibilities. Really like the USB capability.Haven't used the DVD function as yet.

Comments about JVC JVC DVD Micro Component System:
Pros
Good LCD screen size. Mp3 on DVD. 5 Disc changer. Nice 5 Disc button. USB input. Wide range format playback. Clock/Alarm/Timer. Playlist operable on TV. Disc Eject Lock. Random play. Create program playlist. 3D sound field. Price.
Cons
Depth of machine is longer than expected. Prefer volume dial to be thumb operable like other audio system. Front panel audio input is not my taste. Majority of function are operable only on remote. Extended function available only on TV.
Review
This machine is only nice with a TV and is not exactly good as a stand alone.
This is the only machine that has all I want. The machine was bought to replace a few of my existing electronics and also to extend by having the feature of Mp3 on DVD. There is no Equalizer or anything graphical that will display on LCD. This is a very generic and simple entertainment system.
Design
This is an area that needs a little improvement. They should include a few features as a button instead of jam packing it on the remote. The remote itself is already cluttered with many features and features that requires 2 finger to operate (or maybe 2 hands). The volume dial should have been made to operate with fingers or thumb but I guess it would make it a low thug system instead of a high class entertainment. I never liked anything that plugs in from the front because a system should never have anything sticking out. Besides putting it on the front and back, there is really no other place I can think of that would not destroy the look, maybe from the side of the front panel. The LCD screen is nice and big. I hate looking at something small.
Remote
The remote is not entirely all that nice itself. This also needs improvement because it uses 2ndary function to operate half of its features. I would need 2 hands to do a certain thing instead of one which is not nice. The shape of the remote is quite odd. It is not contoured to your hands. The buttons are a little small and cluttered with words.
Features
There are plenty of features to surely feed a mouth full. It has all the latest audio input and output and works with a computer. This is the audio of all audio but dont expect anything more like an Equalizer. I am 98% satisfied with all the necessary feature. The 2% is lack of DivX. Reason is because DivX require Royalty and I guess JVC didn't want to pay for it.
Overall
There are no choice and the reason I bought it is because its got Mp3 on DVD, Clock/Alarm and Radio. There are alot of features all packed on one but the sad thing is there is no DivX or else it would replace my current DVD player. Expect your features to only be operable with TV and remote. I am satisfied with it for the amount I paid for it. It is not a bad system. This system is almost 100% to your audio needs.
