This unit was purchased for my daughter's room and it worked perfectly for that use. The ability to use it with an iPod as well as a straight CD player and tuner is a perfect combination for her uses.

A simple but effective system that provides excellent sound quality for this price range.

Very, very happy with this unit. Great sound. Speakers a little bigger than we expected, but still fit nicely on our nightstands, and the unit with the CD is nice and compact.

This is a great little system with suprisingly good sound. Unlike those plastic shelf systems that are all too common, this Onkyo has solid wood speaker housings and an honest-to-goodness amplifier, resulting in very good sound reproduction -- even at high volume. The controls are simple, easy to use and fairly intuitive. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the combination of a silver main unit flanked by black speakers -- seems like the main unit should be black to match the speakers, or the speakers should be a color other than black (this is a very minor gripe -- not a big deal at all). In short, for the money I don't think you'll find a higher quality system with better sound than this, especially if all you're looking for is a basic system to listen to CDs and the radio.

This system is simply amazing for what you pay. It even puts a friend of mine yamaha system to a bit of shame. With equal sound quality, very good build quality, but for a 1/3 of the price as the yamaha. Sound is very good for the price. Very good build quality. very well designed remote compared to other lower-end brands, simple, but useful. Can play rather loud for only 19watts/ch. I am simply amazed by this system. I am very happy that I chose to spend an extra 60 dollars over the sony I was looking at.

Nice little system. I needed it to fit into a specific space in my girlfriends dressing room. This was the right size for that. It's got a small face (H x W) but it's quite deep and also heavy. Also, the speakers were much bigger than I thought they would be, so I swapped out a couple from a surround sound system downstairs and will use the onkyo ones down there instead (when I get around to it!). But, anyways, the sound is v good, the controls are easy, it all feels very solid and well made, and after I added a little remote extender (Next Generation is the brand) for [$] I can control it from anywhere which is cool. I use it for radio and CD's and plugging in the IPOD. All very cool and looks nice, although if I'd have seen the little black sony system they have here as well, I'd have probably considered that too. [...] I'd buy from here again (in fact I will be for a downstairs system v soon).

I am very pleased with this system. It has a powerful sound. I love the fact that it has a bass enhancement button, and the bass and treble can be manually adjusted. I also love listening to my t.v. through the speakers.

I was looking for a great sounding system that does'nt take up a lot of space.This unit fits perfectly on my bakers rack in the kitchen and can be heard through out the entire house.It is just a wonderful system!

I just got this, after getting rid of my fancy and bulky Sony. The Sony's sound quality was really bad, with unnatural muddy bass, and distortion at higher volumes. Since I listen to music with heavy bass, I decided to junk the Sony and get a better sounding system. So far the Onkyo CS-315 has been excellent. Really good sound, MUCH better bass, with the option of adding a sub-woofer, for even louder bass! I would recommend this system to anyone looking for good, clean sound quality at a reasonable price.
