I chose the Sony sound bar because it had a variety of connections. I was able to connect my cd/dvd, television, and turntable. The sound is about what I expected not great, but good enough for me and much better than the tv alone.

Unit is as advertised and good for small room or one you don't want to run cables for.
First unit failed after 20 minutes. ABT sent replacement on my credit card but took 5 days to get. Credit upon return was prompt by ABt.
Other than failure pleased.

HI, I use the product for Sports and movies it sound great. I have the hdmi cable hook to my cable box to the tv so my kids could watch tv without turning on the sub woofer.My blue ray is hook directly to my subwoofer but you can not use the tv sound if you hook the hdmi cable directly to the subwoofer you only can hear sound through the sony speaker.That is why I have the cable to tv so I can use tv sound and the sony speaker sound and the other advantage is if you dont want you kids to touch the system it does not need to be turn on to watch TV.[...]

Hi,The Sony Sound Bar has great sound.If you hook up the Hdmi Cable from the cable Box Directly to the subwoofer you we need to leave the sub woofer on stand by mode to watch cable.I have it hook from my cable box to my television and ran optical cable to telvision to sub woofer so my kids can watch tv without Turning on the sony soundbar.

Well all in all it's a pretty good product, but takes awhile to set up right. The biggest problem I have against this is, there are no channels in back of the bar to run the TVs wires through it. When you hang the TV on the wall and the sound bar below it and don't want to fish walls, it makes it a little hard.

The goal was to replace an aging HTIB in an open space family room. I wanted a simple solution to having surround audio when watching TV/DVDs and playing video games, for a reasonable price.

After much research, I bought the HT-CT100 yesterday at Abt and installed it in time for today's Lincoln Memorial concert. The system produced sounds that were better than the previous 5.1 Yamaha HTIB , and it was easier to setup. My wife was very happy to hear the performers loud and clear.

Considering its price, HDMI connectivity, and easy setup - the unit should be a very pleasant audio surprise for people with realistic expectations.

Needed an audio system for a smaller room and while it's not as good as a 5.1 surround sound system it sounds great for its size.

very easy to setup. hdmi jacks are a plus. the remote is useless unless you have all sony components. the overall power of the system leaves a lot to be desired. excellent for smaller rooms.

Bought the HT-CT100 to use in my average size apartment hooked up to my new Samsung LN46A550. The soundbar is much better than the built-in HDTV speakers, with clearer voice/sound, and much more bass. Connected with an Optical cable provided. The design is compact and sleek looking; blends in very well. Very easy to setup and you get a lot for the money.

If you have a large room, then the volume may not be enough. It's perfect for apartments and any bedrooms.

This soundbar and sub fills the living room with great sound. 4 someone that didn't want a 5.1 with cords all over, this was perfect. Movies, Sports and Games sound so much better. I could never go back to the speakers in the TV.

I'm pleasantly surprised with this system: good sound quality, easy setup, compact good looks and low cost.

For applications such as a bedroom where full-on 5.1 or 7.1 isn't required or desired this is an excellent piece of gear.
