Comments about Whirlpool Whirlpool Stainless Steel Built-In Super Capacity Dishwasher:

I really have enjoyed this washer for the past four months, and am glad I bought it. All these reviews really helped with my purchase. But I am really aggravated by the design of the silverware tray that fits in the door. The 2 cent latch that is supposed to keep the tray closed continually comes open, spilling silverware all over the inside of the washer. It's not as big a deal when the dishes are clean and I am unloading, but when I just want to place a spoon in the rack and the whole things spills dirty silverware, it's really frustrating. The washer is very quiet, and cleans really well. The cycle time is pretty long, but the instruction manual explains that this is BECAUSE of the energy efficiency. Seems like an oxymoron to me, but whatever. Don't notice that the PowerScour option really works that well, but it's not an option I use much anyway.

Comments about Whirlpool Whirlpool Stainless Steel Built-In Super Capacity Dishwasher:

We have a NEW GE dishwasher that we are getting rid of to have this model Whirlpool. The GE is the worst dishwasher we've ever used. It does not clean even mildly dirty dishes, is loud, leaves residue and dirty food. THEN we went BACK to a Whirlpool and I'm SO happy we did. We've always had Whirlpools and have never had a problem - then we got the horrible GE!! Our new WHIRLPOOL is whisper quiet, cleans like a dream, easy to load and I love the silverware in the door feature - it allows them to get very clean and frees up room in the lower basket. I will NEVER OWN ANYTHING BUT A WHIRLPOOL dishwasher - EVER!! GE refused to do anything about this awful dishwasher even after we offered to PAY to upgrade to a more expensive model So, Don't hesitate to buy this model - or any Whirlpool appliance. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about Whirlpool Whirlpool Stainless Steel Built-In Super Capacity Dishwasher:

This is an OK unit for the price. The door is a bit stiff when opening and closing. It also requires a decent push to close the washer's main door. (the same model from 1999 was an easy close door). There is some rust on the interior door where the center grommets are. I liked the 1999 model because when the delay timer was set, even if you opened the washer door, it would keep the timer setting. The new model, the timer cancels out and you need to reset the delay timer, something which is annoying. The stainless steel is cheap on the front too. They do not build appliances like they used to!

Our old dishwasher left food particles and etched our glasses, so it was time for a new one. I did research and we went to ABT to buy the lesser model. This one was a floor model, so we bought it for the same price. It has been in a week and it works fabulous. The dishes sparkle, and are completely dry when the cycle is finished. It does take longer then our old dishwasher, and I think it is as loud as our old unit. If you want a completely silent dishwasher, you might want to look elsewhere. Overall I am very happy with it and of course I love ABT!

Comments about Whirlpool Whirlpool Stainless Steel Built-In Super Capacity Dishwasher:

I chose this product after searching through hundreds of reviews for the hundred or so different dishwashers out there.
The machine is quiet and cleans well but it's not that good at drying the items in the top rack. It has extremely long cycle times and the heated dry option (which should definitely be used) adds at least a half hour to even the fastest cycle time of an hour. It's energy efficiency is a little deceiving. If you set your hot water heater to provide the required 120 degree water then the dishwasher's efficiency is ok, but if you're like many who save money by not setting your water heater to 120 degrees then the dishwasher has to heat the water and efficiency goes away. So the work load of the dishwasher actually gets transferred to your water heater if you set the water heater to 120 degrees.
The one thing I didn't like about the washer is that they changed the water input valve from the standard brass 3/8" NPT valve to a plastic 3/4" MHT, garden hose type connection valve and they don't mention this in their documentation anywhere out on the net but the errata sheet comes with the dishwasher. It appears they're trying to use common parts between machines to save money as this looks like the valve from a portable machine. The required adapter to connect to a standard dishwasher line costs extra and is hard to find. They provide a telephone number to buy one but that appears to just enhance their database of customers who don't send in warranty cards. The new style valve also causes the water distribution hose to stick out of the side of the machine a little and it can get jammed or ripped off when installing to or removing from under the kitchen counter.
I actually went out and bought the older style, more solid and reliable valve from an appliance store and changed it before installing the dishwasher.
One other thing that opened my eyes was when I called Whirpool directly to find out if they could provide the older style valve and they told me that they were only customer service and that Whirpool has no technical support,... at all.
Hopes this helps your decision. I would recommend this dishwasher to a friend but only after explaining as I have here.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery was superb, probably the best I have ever experienced and ABT customer service was absolutely the best I have ever experienced.

Comments about Whirlpool Whirlpool Stainless Steel Built-In Super Capacity Dishwasher:

Purchased this online - always get a little nervous about doing this with expensive appliances[...] Installed myself - fairly easy to do for an avid DIY type. Is absolutely quiet - we've never used the delayed start features because the noise is hardly noticeable. The loudest thing is the noise when it drains, but that's because of the air gap at the sink (Nothing the dishwasher can do about the sound of running water). Took us a little while to figure out how to load it - we have to angle our plates and bowls slightly across the rows of tines to get them to stand up right. Its natural now that we know. Be sure to let everything cool if you use the Sani-rinse. The dishes come out surprisingly hot if removed right at the end of the cycle.

I looked at every model on the market..every price.. everyone rated the Bosch.. I didn't see anything in it I liked as much as the 3600 Whirlpool.. and this has more features that I found attractive. stainless interior, dishes are actually dry on top..and even CLEAN>.. I don't have to wash them first anymore. love silverware in the door, largest inside that I have ever seen.. Have it in Florida, and now I can't wait to put it in my Ohio home..

Comments about Whirlpool Whirlpool Stainless Steel Built-In Super Capacity Dishwasher:

The only thing we are not completely happy with is the silverware basket. Loading it is a more difficult than our old 1986 dishwasher because of the small compartments. However, we have always been able to get all of the silverware in the basket. Once we put a long wooden spoon in the silverware basket, the top of the spoon ended up by the soap door. The soap door did not open because the spoon held it partially shut. As a result we had some silverware with soap left on them. Since then we have never put anything long in that corner of the silverware basket and it has worked fine.

I am very happy with how quite the dishwasher is and how clean the dishes come out.
