This is a great disposal, powerful simple to install adequate directions. It is amazingly quiet & unlike any other disposal I have ever had. This may be a "problem" for some because I already left the disposal "running" because I could not hear it. Now that I'm aware of how silent it is I will make sure it gets turned off. In fact I have it on a "switch & I put an ON & OFF label on the switch ..

Because of the weight of the disposal, it was cumbersome to try and install and you need to be very careful that all three 'hooks' are firmly attached when tightening down. This is a good solid product though and very quiet.
Delivery was prompt, in good shape and ABT was very supportive and helpful.

I had someone help me with the installation. I had to replace a Whirlaway 291 food disposer. Decided to go with the Kitchenaid model that is rated at 1 hp. The unit is heavy, but once installed, I found it to be much quieter as compared to the unit it replaced. This unit feels solid and I am sure it does a great job.

This item which replaced my original kitchen aid garbage disposal has a much smaller food holder than the original, however, this is a continuous feed disposal and my original was a batch feed. Also, this model has a cover over where the food goes in, and I find this harder to feed the food into.
It is quiet and works well...I couldn't live without it.

We previously had a Kitchenaid batch feed disposer in our old house (it was still going strong after 16+ years) and wanted to get another. After looking at the batch feed, we decided on the continuous feed model. It is the quietest disposal I've ever seen or heard (you can barely tell it's running). Besides being quiet, it does a great job of grinding up anything you put in it.

Very good unit, quite and vibration free. Will easily grind almost everything. The unit was defective, and hums a few seconds when first turned on. Then sent a service man to confirm and promptly replaced the unit.

Very quiet, takes a little longer to grind up everything BUT I believe that is because it grinds very thoroughly and the residue is much finer in consistency at the end of the process. I have a septic system and I prefer that result. So far nothing has been too hard to handle for this.

So quiet I had to turn it on/off to be sure it was operating. When I put chicken bones in the disposal I thought nothing was going through. Actually the bones were all gone and was so quiet the processing couldn't be detected. Great product!

This is my first time to install a disposal. It took me an hour or so to install the disposal. The disposal is very quiet and powerful. We threw in some small pits and it just grinding no problem..

Its very heavy duty and quiet!!! Also, it reverses rotation after each cycle--very novel.
Its big and heavy but the installation instructions are thorough and it comes with all necessary installation components. This unit replaced a Kitchen-Aid unit but this is much better. If you can afford the few extra bucks, go with this one- Its worth it and has a seven year warranty.Also, it fits a standard sink installation without modification.
This company (ABT) is great. They sent use a very heavy item (with free shipping) and it was most expertly packaged.I should think that had the box been dropped from an appreciable height, the contents would not have been damaged. Also, their prices are very,very competitive and we plan to solicit them again. We are most pleased with the fashion and rapidity that they used in dealing with us.
